Always a great place to come before seeing a show next door at the Music Box! Ordering the Provoletta and the shrimp for a starter is a must. You can't go wrong with their signature filet mignon. Try the spinach mashed potatoes; we ordered one for the table and it was a hit! The bartenders and servers are so kind and thoughtful! We will be back many times!

Great food & experience! We enjoyed the food & ambiance before our show at the Music Box Theatre.

Bodega Sur is, in my opinion, one of the very best restaurants in Chicago. Since moving out of Chicago (back to the UK) in 2018, I make a point of eating here every time I visit. The food is superb and inventive (sweetbreads as a side?! Awesome!), the wine selection is impeccable, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is fun. Bodega Sur is one of my favourite restaurants worldwide. Eat. Here.

Love this place. This and their sister restaurants have some of the best meat in the city. I was just a little disappointed that the sauce for my filet tasted a little too salty. Other than that 10/10.

Excellent food and the waitstaff was exceptionally timely. Drinks were good and though room could be loud, it was not completely full when we dined so we were able to talk comfortably.

Have them bring you empanadas until someone passes out. They are just that good.

First time dining at Bodega Sur and nearly everything went wrong. My boyfriend and I split an appetizer and an entree. Ordered the hummus and asked if they could add raw veggies with the naan for dipping. I was happy to pay more for the addition. I was told they don't have raw veggies, so that couldn't be accommodated. Then, in the same conversation with our server, she said they could add raw carrots and celery. I was confused, as that's not what she said a moment prior and, also, because I was hoping for a bit more of an assortment of veggies, since many of their menu items include red peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, etc. When the hummus came out it had an olive tapenade on top, which was not in the description on the menu, and, since we hate olives, we couldn't eat the dish and had to send it back. We also ordered the “el gaucho”—a 16-oz. ribeye—and asked for it to be served medium-rare. It came to our table well-done with not even a hint of pink. We were so hungry and our server was nowhere to be found, so we simply ate it. We were supposedly given a discount on the steak because it was overcooked, but we never saw an itemized bill—only the handheld card-reader with the total amount displayed. $70, before any tip was added, for an overcooked ribeye and two glasses of wine. In all sincerity, in the 20+ years I've lived in Chicago, I don't think I've had a worse meal and/or experience. We won't be returning to or recommending Bodega Sur.

Andrés took great care of us and delivered an outstanding, professional experience during our breakfast.

Hands down, the corn empanadas are the best! Absolutely delicious.

The Arnold Palmer was one of the best I’ve had—fresh, natural, and nothing artificial.

The Lomito was super tasty, and the salad was refreshing and crisp.

The steak and eggs is the champ of breakfasts—just like Tango, it doesn’t disappoint. Having quinoa with potatos was a smart touch...e, CHE.

Jenny was fantastic as our server. Most of the food was great, but the octopus I had was a bit overcooked and chewy. We will definitely come back.

Good food, not very clean, good service. The place needs some remodeling. Good experience overall.

Ordered huevos rancheros - expected crunchy nachos on top of black beans but I got this soggy mess !

Everything was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. This will be a new favorite AND they take reservations.

We were supposed to go to Tango Sur but there was a 90 minute wait and they don’t take reservations. 🙄 So after a looking up the sister restaurant next door we ended up at Bodega Sur! Best idea ever. The food was delicious, I’m still thinking about the beef empanadas. It has neighborhood small restaurant vibes. The guy working the bar and our waiter was a sweet heart. All cuts of meat was delicious and I’m upset we didn’t take a gamble and try the pimento cheese. Hubby and I was very pleased and the bill wasn’t that high! 💕💕👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
