We were excited about this restaurant because of all the vegan options that was closeby. I decided to take the leap of faith despite the lower ratings. We got the tofu noodle salad, seitan bahn mi, and the wings. The wings were actually tasty but the tofu seemed almost spoiled and the seitan left a bad taste.

Food was very good for how cheap it was. Service is awesome. Not sure how this place isn’t more popular. The coconut curry chicken sandwich was delicious and so fresh

It’s become our new favorite restaurant for banh mi! It’s the best banh mi sandwich we’ve had outside of the Argyle area. Perfect bread, meats, veggies, and tastes authentic.
- Korean Bon Bon Wings 8/10, slightly dry but amazing fry
- Char Siu Pork Noodle Salad 5/10, lots of noodle and not much of anything else
- The Classic banh mi 10/10
- Lemongrass Chicken banh mi 15/10, this was amazing!

I was looking for a new food place to try after a day in wicker park and I am so happy I chose Bon Bon!! The tofu spring rolls are hands down the best I’ve ever had. The Thai curry seitan Bahn mi was absolutely delicious, too. Veggy wings were good, a little on the spicy side for me, but the flavor & texture were both on point. Have already recommended this place to friends and will 100% be back soon!

OK, we stopped in this shop for sandwich Vietnamese. I don’t know why this place. It is with solar ratings. When my experience coming in right here for the top is coming a good service fresh food, good sandwich and good and definitely it is not my first time coming into this place I was coming already long time ago when my kids was in the school around the neighborhood now my kids there are in the age of 29 and 26 and I decided to come back to get a sandwich and, don’t disappoint me. It was still the same people running the business and there was what made me very happy a couple who gets tried to put best sandwich in the table recommended and please come with open mentality that it is a very good food.

I stopped in on my way to catch the blue line to the airport for a quick bite. It was my first time and I couldn’t be more impressed with the diverse menu, the quality, flavors, atmosphere and quick service! I ordered the yellow curry tempeh bahn mi, along with kimchi fries. I usually don’t order fries but I couldn’t resist the unique combo! Everything was YUMMY. The sandwich’s neat presentation superb and the lightness of the bread offset the rich flavors of the curry beautifully. It was light yet filling.

My friend had pho, which I tasted and enjoyed the flavor as well. The portion was generous, so on top of being delicious a terrific value!

The server and co-owner was bubbly and pleasant and helped us feel right at home!

Don’t miss this gem if you’re in Chicago for the first time or a native!

Love this place. It has such a charming vibe. Situated in a wonderful Chicago neighborhood that is 'city' and 'cozy'. I've been there a number of times and LOVE the Pho (Vietnamese soup). The Beef Pho is my favorite. ALSO, the Bahn Mi sandwiches are wonderful...a combination of delicate flavors with a crisp fresh quality. Sit and relax, read one of the books in the bookshelf (an eclectic array of subjects). Great owners!

Delightful Neighborhood Restaurant with Fabulous Food and Inviting AmbienceThis is such a delightful little restaurant! The food is extraordinary, and they have a larger menu than one would expect in a neighborhood cafe. The ambience is inviting, with lots of artworks on the walls and if you love books, you can sit in a table framed by a bookshelf full of interesting, artistic and philosophical offerings. The owners are lovely, the tables have good space between them, and the service is fast. This feels like it would become my neighborhood hangout it I lived in Chicago. I hope to be back there soon.
