The staff at this restaurant are board game connoisseurs! They give great recommendations and are pros at explaining basically any game in their expansive library. Good drink selection too. Highly recommend!

What a great place! Place to play games and enjoy food and drinks while you are! I would not rate this like a regular restaurant because I think it more focused on the game playing with some food. If you are going for the food, probably not your place. It’s good if you go expecting pretty basic stuff, like a microwaved quesadilla. However, everything else completely makes it a great place.
The staff is fantastic! They will suggest and/or bring you games from their huge selection. They will explain the games or let you learn on your own. We paid $7 each for a game pass, and played for almost 3 hours. There is $10 minimum order for food and drinks while you are there. I had a root beer float and my daughter had a couple really nice craft beers. Saw other people’s snacks and things looked ok. A quesadilla and a veggie tray I remember.
My only small dislike is that the tables are really close together and it took me a bit to get comfortable with that.

So much fun at the cafe. They have so many unique games, ones you havent even heard of. And a wide variety of them. They have them sorted in different categories as well behind the menu into levels, people playing and approx time it takes. The staff was very helpful with suggesting the games according to your preferences. And they explain each game as well so you arent lost lol. As for the food, it was overpriced and underwhelming. A basic grilled cheese was for 11 dollars. And you have to have a minimum order for 10 dollars and a additional 7 dollars for a game pass.

Great time! The staff was very friendly and the entire vibe was welcoming and cozy. Def recommend for dates and friend hangs. The food was fresh and the cocktail I had was nicely balanced.

Loved this place! The cafe was very relaxed with a fun atmosphere. The staff were really knowledgable about the games and were able to make suggestions based on what we were interested in AND teach us how to play. The menu had great drink and snack options, too. We had a great time and I will definitely be going back!

Stopped by in between seeing MSI in Chicago and a concert at the Vic Theater. My husband and I don't frequent the city, so we were a bit overwhelmed by the rush and culture shock Chicago can sometimes provide. Having been in town since about 9am we decided to try and find a place to slow down and recollect ourselves, but where could such a place be in the windy city? Here. It's here. I had the most delicious and rejuvinating mocha and the most polite and real service I've ever had at a gaming store EVER. The staff was so genuinely helpful and knowledgeable about the games they offered and also very skilled at making recommendations for your specific needs. Ended up trying Dorfromantik and we are buying it immediately. If you need a spot to relax and recover after busy city life hits hard, this is your one stop relaxation spot.
Kid-friendliness: Had board and card games for all ages, with a helpful sticker code system for judging difficulty without having to juggle every single box. All sorted by complexity. The staff are very friendly and eager to help you with any hiccups you may experience learning a new title
Bonus Round is a local treasure in Lakeview. The staff is so kind and always willing to explain new games for you. Can't wait to try the Puzzle Showdown event sometime. And I love the honey fig goat cheese dip! ?

Bonus Round is such a gem! My partner and I visited today during their happy hour ($5 game fee + $10 food and drink minimum isn’t too bad!). As first-timers we figured we might spend some time sifting through the collection, but the staff very kindly offered to make personalized recommendations for us. All of the games we were recommended were hits—and one of their staff members even offered to stay with us for the first couple turns in case we needed more help!
We had so much fun munching on our hummus and fig/goat cheese plate and sipping some iced teas while learning to play new games. I’m excited to be back for some of their events!
Also—having gender-neutral bathrooms both stocked with pads and tampons is a huge win in my book. Thanks for looking out for the comfort of all your visitors :)

This place ROCKS! We enjoyed an afternoon at Bonus Round sipping mocktails, eating Key Lime Pie dip and playing two different games. Leticia was so kind and helpful with suggesting games based on our interest/level teaching us how to get started. The cafe was so clean and inviting with great music. 10/10!!!!
