Had a lunch reservation. Table wasn't ready when we got there on time. Waited, talked to hostess, told us it shouldn't be much longer, waited, talked again, no movement, waited. Decided to leave. They're missing the whole point of a functioning reservation system. Sucks cause I wanted to show my in-law filipino food.

We had the most amazing meal here! We use to frequent a lot of Filipino restaurants, and this is by far the finest experience. Everything was delicious and perfect; you can tell they pay a lot of attention to the preparation of the food. The ambiance and vibe is wonderful and we loved their music selection.

Great food, drinks, and service! The atmosphere here is awesome, everyone is really nice and the place is super comfy. Very approachable food that’s easily better than many even michelin rated places

The menu is packed with beautifully crafted dishes that celebrate traditional Filipino cuisine while adding a modern touch. Every plate — from the rich adobo and crispy lumpia to the perfectly seasoned pancit — bursts with flavor and showcases the kitchen’s attention to detail. The portions are generous, the presentation is inviting, and the ingredients are clearly fresh and high quality. The warm, vibrant atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends, family, or anyone eager to explore bold and comforting flavors.

Loved everything about Boonie’s! 🩵 The Sizzling Sisig, Maitake Piaparan, and Whole Fish Inasal were all standouts and packed with so much flavor.
Cocktails were a hit too, we got the Paw Paw Margarita and Calamansi Sour.

Such a cozy spot with great service and all the feel-good vibes. Can’t wait to go back. 🤍

Boonies is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Joe is very nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing Filipino food. The tocilog is great. Must come back. 10/10.

Boom this place is bomb! Our server was super energetic and happy and I kinda liked it. The garlic rice is indeed the most awesome. The sisig is so flavorful. Their crispy pork was a miss but the wagyu steak which was a beef cheek was insanely good and tender. Overall really big fan!

We drove 1.5 hours from Kankakee (thanks Chicago traffic!) and it was worth every minute. Parking was easy—$7.50 for 3 hrs right in front. We arrived early and waited briefly, but service was excellent once seated. Ambiance is warm and authentic. The lumpia were fantastic, garlic rice divine, and crispy pata the star. Pancit (vegetarian) was flavorful, and kare-kare was unique though different from what I expected. The bagoong was perfect. We’ll be back!

Filipino food that’s watered down to a white person’s palette. I was most disappointed by the Kare Kare. My favorite Filipino food growing up. The flavors that make this dish so uniquely flavorful left much to be desired here. If you haven’t had Filipino food I might see why you’re impressed. As a Filipino, severely disappointed. There are other Filipino restaurants in this city that don’t sell out our flavors to cater to a western audience.

Edit in response to their comment- one can experiment, grow, and evolve and still remain true to their culture and flavor. Plenty of Filipino restaurants in this Chicago scene do this brilliantly. This was not done here.

We've been here a couple of times on a date night and both times the service, food, has been incredible. Definitely going to visit again!
