Ok so for the pastry quesito was fresh but it need it more queso inside fo 5 dollar per Quesito it should have more filling for the pastelillo de guava well out of the six I purchase 2 didn't have no filling and they are as big as a quarter you get 6 for 8 dollars it look like one pastelillo cut into 6 pieces so for 1 questions and 1 pastelillo I pay 13.65 downer no steak sandwich and the chicken and turkey is delicious meat, wish i could post pictures
Very clean place.
Nice staff.
Good price but cakes were extremely sweet. Could only take a bite or two before I couldn’t anymore. It’s just my taste though. I’m sure it will be great for someone else.
Came from a TikTok video 😂. The cashier Adriana was super friendly & helpful explaining the menu. I had a coquito frappe & pernil sandwich, both of which I’d order again! Cute date place or for anytime you’re craving something sweet !
Came across this place on tiktok and had to try it out. EVERYTHING was so good.
Quesitos and bizcochitos on point!
Highly recommend
The service the place and presentation of the cakes formidable. But I was totally disappointed with the tripleta. Maybe I had a Borikua tripleta in mind but that was absolutely not a tripleta Borikua.
The frosting on the cakes were too sweet and the almond syrup encompassed all the flavor of the cake. 👎 The sweets were just ok. I really wish you success in your business.
Today Saturday July 5th at 2pm my boyfriend and I walked into your establishment and first impression was definitely great, very cute, clean and good music. The employee that took care of us was very nice , service was fast, but the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The best SANDWICHES in Chicago hands down. It even brought memories back to my boyfriend talking about “if we move to Puerto Rico you can eat this everyday “ lol He really thought he was in the island so thank you for that! We will definitely be back asap!!!!!!!!!!
Im from out of town. But as soon as I landed I came here to get a sandwich some drinks and some cupcakes. All of it was delicious!! I hope to make a visit again soon!
Review from the Puerto Rican festival. I had been wanting to try this place, but they had a food truck at the festival so I got a taste of a couple things. I am of the opinion that the true quality of a restaurant is based on how they do the basic things. I had a limber de coco and a quesito de guayaba - the limber was AMAZING - real coconut in there, so much sabor, and so creamy and delicious. 10/10 - not super crazy expensive either. The quesito was also really, really good - most places I've tried in Chicago don't get the flakiness and pillowy texture of the pastry down, but Borinkén Cakes does. I agree with some other reviews that the amount of cream cheese is lacking, but it actually wasn't *bad* because of that, in my opinion, since it just wasn't as sweet, but you still got all the flavors. The price was a little much, though - 9/10 for the quesito. The next day I went back and tried their tripleta - WOW. Most people don't put well-seasoned and moist lechón in the sandwich because you can cover it up with sauce and toppings. But this lechón was next-level. The pastrami instead of bistek was a little unconventional, but in the end, it worked. There wasn't much mayoketchu, but the meat was so tender and juicy that you soon forget about that and just enjoy the pure flavors of the meat as it melts in your mouth. Bread was really good (they use pan sobao), and the presentation was cute. Now, $20 for a tripleta, I've seen close to that before, but this was TINY... Enough to barely make a meal, sure, with all the meat packed in there, but not close to what you'd expect for $20. I'll still give it a 9/10 just because the quality was so high that I wasn't upset about it. All that said, I look forward to going to their store and trying some bizcochitos, and I hope they live up to the quality of their other items!
This is a must -stop any time I am in this area. The coquito frappe, pastries, and cakes were all delicious! I got the birthday bundle and everyone was impressed.

My first time visiting here and all I can say is I absolutely loved it! Excellent customer service was provided and the environment just feels like home away from home. I highly recommend the pastrami sandwich and the quesito for dessert which were both very tasteful and delicious and were made hot and fresh which is a plus. I purchased a few more food items to go but these were for sure my two faves while I sat and ate there. I will be returning back very soon when I am around in the area again. Thank you once again for the great customer service provided today you guys rock!

I took my friend here as she is from Puerto Rico and all I can say is I was only allowed ONE pastelillito lol. I had already had a number of the cupcake flavors at a festival, but being able to taste all the rest, including the flavor of the month, I can say with certainty everything is exquisite. We got the bundle box and everything was eaten in 3 days. Very accessible with two locations and well worth it.

I ordered two birthday bundles (24 mini assorted cakes) for my boyfriend’s birthday this past weekend. The process to order was very easy and the presentation of the cakes was very nice. They were tied with a ribbon and the bakery provided a cake topper. Unfortunately, the taste did not match the presentation. We found the cakes to be extremely sugary and most people could not finish them. It was also hard to decipher the flavor because all we could taste was the sugar. It was disappointing because we were initially interested in this place for all of the amazing flavors they advertised like guava, coconut, hazelnut etc. For the price, I expected better quality in flavor. Not sure I would purchase from here again.
