Great coffee place, feels really neighborhood based.
I got a coffee and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich with everything on it, pickles, onions, mayo, tomato, lettuce. It was good.
My kid got a juice and brownie.
My partner got a tuna sandwich. He liked it.
This place is definitely cool

good food and sometimes good coffee. however, i always have to wait 15+ minutes for my order while im seeing only one employee working while the rest are talking. ik it gets busy and yet i have to wait when there’s only 3 people inside. when i order ahead, they always tend to forget half my order. i’m always prepared to remind them about my order when i order online to not have to sit for 20 minutes for a sandwich. today while waiting, one of the employees was trying to be “intimidating” by leaning and staring at me while her and her coworkers are laughing. it made me feel that they know im waiting but they wanted to show me they didn’t care.

Best coffee in the city, hands down. We appreciate their minimalism, simplicity, and dedication to an excellent product. All of their beans are direct-trade sourced from farmers, and you can tell they roast them with care and precision. The staff are always friendly, knowledgeable, and expertly trained. Jack and his family have created a true cornerstone for our community that's withstood the test of time, and for that, we are forever grateful.
(Pro tip: If you're really struggling and in desperate need of a pick-me-up, their cold brew is basically rocket fuel.)

Nice neighborhood cafe. The service is extremely friendly. The. The furnishings are a bit bare. The food is tasty and served quickly. People sit there with a laptop or get a coffee to go.

Bridgeport Coffeehouse is my favorite local coffee shop in Chicago! A wonderful vintage atmosphere with friendly service and delicious coffee, perfect for a study session, conversation, or just a quick grab and go. There’s a huge map of the world on the wall too that I love to admire whenever I sit down for a coffee. They also low key have one of the best Jalapeño Cheddar bagels with cream cheese that can rival a lot of bagel shops in Chicago (not sure about NYC though). Highly recommend for a local coffee shop experience Chicago Style!

I am having to revise my review to reflect the fact that the coffee today was brewed at half the strength as it usually is.
I've been coming here for over 15 years now and what has normally brought me back is consistency regarding how good and how reliably strong the coffee is. Today it was very weak which makes me leery as to whether or not you guys are changing how strong you brew the coffee.

Let me tell you something here. When I get some bomb food and drinks, especially my Arnold palmer. They do not disappoint at all! And when my boy Jack (the manager) set me up with some recommendation on what he eats. Shoot! He did not disappoint at all lmao. Would go back forsure lol

I was a regular, and I came in once and a worker made me a tea. The tea was amazing and I would request it each time. Jack (the owner) one day just blew up and yelled at me, while they were busy. I still purchased the tea and tipped 20% for the workers as it is not their fault.
I went today and went to order the tea again not understanding what is the problem with making me a tea. I greeted the cashier and Jack as I walked in and explained to Jack (the owner) that I did not appreciate the way he spoke to me during my last visit. Jack doubled down and attempted to gaslight me explaining that he told me they do not make specialty teas, and I told him that’s fine, but he will not yell at me as he did not communicate that at all especially not calmly like an adult. Jack tried to continue to gaslight me and explain that he did tell me before, so I told him I will not be back again. He proceeded to point to the door, and said he did not appreciate how I spoke to him as I was advocating for myself calmly.
The workers have been great and I feel sorry they have to work under someone so narcissistic / emotionally immature.

The owner Mike is very conservative and has a prejudice against younger workers and fires staff if he feels threatened by them or if they don’t share his views.
