Great food and vibes. Such a beautiful serene space. The servers were also very down to earth. Loved the food and how it was just the perfect taste of sweetness

If you like eating breakfast in a nail salon then this is the place for you. There was NO COFFEE, no cutlery, and a 45-50 minute wait to get our breakfast. Over staffed and over priced. The owners / management need to take a long hard look at the planning and customer experience. We had high expectations but left feeling disappointed and hungry.

First of all, the entire staff is so friendly & nice. Every one of them!!! From chef Emani to the waiters, Chanell & Darius, to those working at the bar or busy doing others things, Every single one greeted us with a big smile!

Ambience is nice! Kool! Grown & elegant.

Now the food???? Listen!!!! Everything was delicious!!! Great fried catfish, Chicken wings, greens, sweet potatoes!! And that mac n cheese is the best Mac n cheese I’ve had at any restaurant, including soul food restaurants. Hands down! And being the foodie that I am, I’ve been to many!

This was some good eating!!! I will most definitely be back!!! I know they just opened as a brunch restaurant, but I’m looking forward to them maybe being opened at night. A 10/10!!! I highly recommend!!

Walked in on Grand Opening Day. Party of 4. We were seated in about 5-10 minutes. Chanell was our server. She gave some excellent recommendations on what we should get. 3 of us got chicken and waffles (a hit). 1 person got the Brisket Grilled Cheese which I’ll be back to try. Food was delicious. Nelly was our busser cool dude. The manager Nia came out and chatted with us. Asked if we had any suggestions on improvement. No complaints.

This place is a true gem. The ambience is warm and inviting, the service was top-notch, and the owner was such a sweetheart. Every staff member we interacted with made sure we had everything we needed and was kind, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care that we were having a great experience. We tried the catfish and grits, Brussels sprouts, French toast, and fried chicken, and every single dish was delicious and perfectly prepared. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food and wonderful service!

Brûlée absolutely blew me away. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that every detail — from the warm, modern atmosphere to the carefully curated menu — was crafted with heart and intention.

For an opening weekend, the service was beyond impressive. The staff moved with precision and genuine hospitality, anticipating every need without being overbearing. You could feel the pride in every plate and pour.

The menu is a masterclass in thoughtful creativity — every dish balances comfort with refinement. You can taste the care that went into each element, from the first bite to the last. It’s rare to find a breakfast and brunch spot that delivers both impeccable flavor and flawless presentation.

And the moment that sealed the deal? The executive chef herself came to our table — warm, gracious, and passionate — making it feel as if we were dining in her own home. That personal touch elevated the experience from “great meal” to “unforgettable.”
Chicago has officially found its new breakfast and brunch crown jewel. Brûlée is the spot. Claiming it now — this is the best brunch in the city.

Brulee is a Chicago brunch win!
I had The Virgil Special and swapped the catfish for 3 wings — perfect choice! The food was flavorful, the vibe was great, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my multiple food allergies. Great service and even better food. Can’t wait to go back!

What can I say great food great decor a real nice restaurant and the food was excellent. I love how I looked at the table next to mine and the food was prepared exactly the same. Friendly staff and love the way they truly were getting the food out hot to the people. A great staff attentive and very polite. And this is just so many days open I love it will be back again.

This place has so much potential and I can’t wait to see it flourish in the future. The decor and ambiance are amazing however the space is very cramped btwn the tables and chairs. There isn’t enough space btwn the tables and the servers are constantly walking in btwn the tightest spaces to get to were they need to be. The food was good BUT it came out lukewarm and the presentation kinda threw me off. I had the “Virgil Special” which came with catfish, sweet potatoes, and collard greens. I personally don’t like when all of my food is piled on a plate and touching but to each its own. I do plan to support this business again in the future and hope to see a few changes implemented.

This place is decently busy for a brand new open. Love that it’s black woman operated. The food is fresh, comes out hot, and expertly seasoned.

I ordered the avocado croast and the Michigan Ave breakfast

1) Avocado Croast: Supposed to be avocado toast on a croissant. No croissant to be seen. But it is EXCELLENT flavoring. But It is not on a croissant so I was a little said. But like I said the flavor of it was excellent especially with the faint undertone of heat from the spicy tomatoes was phenomenal. The avo was very fresh and I can tell because I wasn’t itchy after eating it. Healthy portion.

2) Michigan Ave breakfast: SOLID classic breakfast. Big portions. The back. Has great flavor and was crispy which is how I prefer bacon. The eggs were cooked well and the potatoes were really good and seasoned well. All hot when it came out. That biscuit was delicious. Soft buttery with honey butter on top.

The music was a little loud but it wasn’t intrusive. Price wise it is in line with what you’d expect to pay for chicago brunch. Coffee was just ok for me.

The service was good, friendly but not intrusive.

We needed a place like this in south loop. Will definitely be back!
