Excited to one day eat here in person, for now we ordered to go and walked over 30 min home and the food was STILL fresh and delicious!! Mole chicken enchiladas were awesome and I am so happy to find good mole in Chicago! Also ordered the Baja steak burrito which was delicious, traveling with it next time I would get the lettuce and guacamole and tomato on the side to add after because it wilted a little during our walk. Last we got horchata which was clearly home made and didn't taste like from powder it was great! Rice, beans, tortilla soup all were great additions to the meal and I would order this again any day! Excited to try some of the other menu items in the future, thanks for a great meal during these hard times!

Great flavors and seasoning! The salsa had nice heat and was fresh and homemade. Asada steak was tender and delicious. The rice was just right and the habanero shrimp were cooked to perfection. Everything came with little fresh made tortillas and we chose the tortilla soup as our sides with the meal. Oh! And the cheese quesadilla was really great. That came with a little side of guacamole and rice. You should order takeout from this small local business. I could taste the love the food was cooked with and appreciated the attention to detail they gave to all their dishes we tried. Very impressive!

Ordered delivery from them tonight and the food never came, they charged us and are now not answering the phone.

This restaurant is my favorite place. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I I need a delicious lunchon, this place comes right away to my mind. fresh and varied food and a large menu.well mannered staff members, and good mood. And very important, the price is modest. I tell about this place with great pleasure.

Great food, reasonable prices BYOB! The original owner of Wholly Frijoles brings his talents to this low key location. We hosted a party here and they were very accommodating. Easy parking and centrally located.

This is a great place off the beaten path. The owner's originally ran Wholly Frijoles If you ever ate there you know the quality of the food. Highly recommended.

Food was delicious, the service was great too. It's hidden a gem but so not easy to find. Accept when I went to use the coupon that yelp rewards you with upon "checking in" they told me they stopped using the coupons a week ago. It was only 5% but I found that to be off putting and cheap on stingy on their end. The coupon was clearly valid if yelp was allowing me to use it.

Being from San Diego, one thing I miss on the Mexican food scene in Chicago is Comida de Baja. I've lived here for fifteen years and haven't had one decent fish taco--until now! Cabos Baja Cafe & Mexican Grill is the real deal. Crisp fish. Creamy sauce. Cabbage. You can almost taste the salt water from your table. But it didn't stop there. The crab stuffed chicken and habanero shrimp were as good if not better than any of the shi-shi not-really-Mexican places (eh-hem Rick Bayless). The only thing this place is missing is a buffet salsa table with pickled carrots and jalapenos and various salsas. Now to be fair, that might be more of SoCal thing and not an actual Baja thing, so I'm more than willing to let it go because the rest of the food was so good. Oh, and the guacamole was perfect, so get some.

the food was very good nice clean restaurant, the waitress was nice, my only suggestion is with a group of 3 she should've asked us if we wanted separate checks before ringing it up and then said it was too late

We had lunch at Cabos Baja Cafe with some friends from the western suburbs. We had been to the restaurant before and thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was the first time for our friends. They reminded us of just how good this restaurant is! The food is wonderful and plentiful, the prices are more than reasonable, the waitstaff is made up of very nice and helpful people, the decor is lovely and clean with well-spaced tables, and there's even some parking in front and back. I had the nicely prepared roasted chicken, a mammoth portion (for about $11 for lunch if I remember correctly), with terrific sweet potato fries. Our friends raved about the mole entrees and the tortilla and chowder soups. The salad is one of my favorites in any restaurant: I think I tasted jicama, corn, cilantro, along with the greens and tortilla strips--just a lovely, refreshing dish and nice presentation. The complimentary chips come along with a roasted pepper salsa with a nice touch of heat. While it doesn't look like much from the outside, it is a very competent operation with a solid menu. Instead of bemoaning the lack of good restaurants in the neighborhood, go support this one. You won't regret it!

The food is fresh and very tasty. The steak in my burrito is not some little cut up pieces, and the flavor is great!
