Café Calidá is it!
I stopped in for a custom Vanilla Caramel Café con Leche and it was absolutely on point—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. The coffee alone is worth the visit, but the food? Next level. I had the Chorizo + Egg and Lechón empanadas, and they were nothing short of perfection—crispy on the outside, flavorful and satisfying on the inside.
The space is warm and welcoming, with great attention to detail and community. I love that they’re spotlighting Guatemalan coffee growers and ethically sourced beans. It’s not just a café—it’s a space that blends culture, quality, and care.
Highly recommend if you're in the area and looking for a new favorite coffee spot. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

Best coffee shop in Chicago, in my humble opinion. Anton and the CC team have created a wonderful, communal space that serves equally as a third place as it does a great coffee place. And whenever they got donuts, get 'em!

Wanted to try somewhere new for coffee this morning and though this was my first time here it certainly won’t be my last. Thanks for a great experience!

I’ve been going to Calidá since it opened and rented the space for a personal event. I have nothing but great experiences with the owners and the coffee is always delicious. I love the pastries and snacks they offer, and the atmosphere is lovely. The space is always clean, full of natural light; there is plenty of places to sit and read or work or chat. It’s a really cute place and DEFINITELY worth a visit.

Cafe Calida is my go to neighborhood coffee shop. The coffee is excellent (my fav is The Jess), and their pastries are just as good! Anton and Liset are so welcoming and friendly - it always feels good to stop in. Great vibes and plenty of space to just hang or get some work done!

From the moment you walk in, the warmth of this place is undeniable. The customer service is always spot on—friendly, attentive, and personal. It’s the kind of coffee shop where they remember your name, and if you go often enough, your order too. I love the Guatemalan touches throughout—it adds so much character. And every specialty latte I’ve tried has been absolutely delicious!

This is my go to neighborhood coffee shop. The atmosphere is friendly and feels like what coffee shops used to be before social media turned everything into a photo op (not that there’s anything wrong with that, if that’s your vibe). The lattes and the coffee are delightful and so reasonably priced I am a little nervous to write this. I never regret stopping in at Calidá.

Quaint is the best possible way. It is the type of small coffee shop you want to go to everyday. It was a delight and it will be fun to visit again.

I don’t normally leave reviews but had such a positive interaction with the barista that I had to! I asked for an iced tea and he went out of his way to make it perfect, then gave me the rest to go so it wouldn’t go to waste. Very personable guy :) and the tea was great!

Anton runs the warmest, most welcoming coffee shop in the entire city. There's plenty of space to work, read, or have a chat with a friend.
Heard a rumor they're getting in breakfast treats from Cafe Tola too.
