I love their arroz con gandules everything is good from the menu.
Found this place while looking for something different since I work in the area… I love Hispanic food but I was slightly tired of eating the same Mexican-style dishes. I saw that this place was Cuban, and thought to give it a try since I don’t really get to try other types of Hispanic food.
When I first walked in, I immediately noticed how clean this place was and the amount of artistic aesthetic glowing from each wall. My head kept turning and scanning the room. Very warm and comfortable… I even changed my mind from doing takeout to eating inside. As of right now, this is my third time visiting this place and just today there was a man singing while playing the guitar. It was beautiful.
Even though I already knew what I wanted, I still looked at the menu to see all their options and prices. I was surprised at how affordable these prices were compared to other restaurants in the area post inflation. Sandwhiches were about $8-$9 bucks and if you want a double or extra toppings it was about $11 in total, not including the drink though, and to add cheese was only 50 cents.
I knew I wanted one of those flatbread sandwhiches I saw when I searched this place on Google so I ended up ordering a Bistek Double with french fries and a Horchata. I sat and waited maybe 6 minutes and my food was ready (it was the only person there at the time). My food was brung to me by a male server, but before he brought me the food he went to a fridge and took a bottle of yellow sauce out, and brought my food and the bottle to me. I asked what this yellow sauce was and he said it was hotsauce for my fries. Generally I don’t eat that much traditional hotsauce like Louisiana or Redhot, but I do enjoy the green and red sauces I get with Mexican food, so I decided to give this mysterious yellow sauce a try — and good googly moogly, this sauce was the f*cking BOMB. I completely destroyed those fries…and when my sandwhich came, I put yellow sauce on that too. The sandwhich was perfect: the steak meat was nice and tender, the onions and tomato blended in perfectly, the cheese pull was glorious, and the crunch on that bread was unbelievable how it held everything together into a solid sandwhich. That hot sauce is downright addictive. I tried to ask what type of sauce was it, and I was told that it was a mix between green and red peppers with seasoning. It’s not super hot but it does have a kick to it. The horchata knocked out all of the heat after a couple sips anyway so my overall eating experience was very comfortable.
I’ve already recommended my coworkers and family to this place, it’s my new hidden gem. I will definitely be back to try more options.
