Really affordable Chinese bakery if you want to avoid the rush of Chinatown (but still better than like, the bakery inside of Park to Shop etc). Very affordable too, esp if you bring cash to avoid the credit card fee. The curry bun, hot dog bun, coconut custard bun, egg tarts, sugar top buns like matcha crack top, are our standard orders. They make a good customizable iced coffee (e.g., can get it with no sweetener) too. We have never had anything that isn’t fresh.

My 10 year old nephew loves bread. For his birthday I picked up a loaf of white bread from Captain Bakery as a special treat and he loved it. Now he specifically asks for “the perfect bread” before every family gathering.

A hidden gem of a chinese bakery in Bridgeport/McKinley area. They have a great variety of Cantonese buns and other pastries. The food reminds me of how real old school Cantonese buns should taste. Better than the big bakeries in Chinatown. These are fresh and taste like they are made with quality ingredients. The prices are reasonable and cheap compared to the big names in Chinatown. Highly recommend you give them a try. Seating is limited to 4 window counters. Cash is preferred...
