Popped in for lunch. Food hit the spot and the vibe (as the kids say) is 💯💯💯
Best bar in the world. (No im not drunk why would you ask?)
Best bar in the world (def not with the guy who just left that review below)
Cardozo’s is probably the best dive bar in the Loop. The entrance is unassuming as you walk downstairs next door to a church.
Once inside, you order at the bar. They’ve got pretty cheap food and drinks. On Wednesday, it’s $10 for a beer, a burger, and fries.
Aesthetically, it’s a mix between super divey and old school because legal textbooks line the walls. I doubt anyone has ever read any of them, but it adds to the vibe. I do note that like everything in the Loop they close kinda early at 8 pm, but honestly that’s perfect because I usually have to go to work the next day anyways.
Perfect lunch spot in the city, one of the best happy hours, too!
Cardozo's Pub is a hidden gem in the Loop, perfect for those seeking a cozy, old-school vibe. I recently swung by after work and ordered the Shrimp Scampi, which featured gulf shrimp sautéed in garlic butter, served over linguini marinara. Paired it with a cold Goose Island 312 draft, and the total came to about $20. The staff was friendly, and the service was prompt, making it an ideal spot for a laid-back meal or drinks. If you're in the area and crave a no-frills experience with solid food and drinks, Cardozo's Pub is worth checking out.
I've been here a few times and it has been great! This place feels like a movie set or something, but it's a real place and I really enjoyed it
Terrible bar , they don’t ID first off. They scam you for your money and literally over charge you on purpose . One of the guy managers is unprofessional and rude . I set a reservation and when I came they told me they had no reservations that day. Then when we explained more, all of a sudden they had a reservation for 7 people . Kicked us out at 7:05 cause they were “tired “ when they close at 8! Automatic gratuity as well of 20% ?? Never come to this bar!
I’ve visited this bar a few times for after-work happy hours. While I wasn’t blown away by the service, I didn’t expect much, considering it’s a dive bar in the Loop, and they often seem understaffed for the number of patrons. However, my most recent visit was particularly disappointing. I went to meet a former colleague and ended up running into a group of acquaintances. While catching up, one of the staff members approached me, yelling and being extremely rude and unprofessional about something I didn’t even understand. The way I was treated made me feel disrespected, so I decided to leave. A witness to the interaction also left and shared that they had been treated poorly by the staff on previous occasions as well. After reading other reviews, it seems this unprofessional behavior is a pattern at this bar. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values being treated with respect.
Went with a group after work. Bartender was extremely rude for no apparent reason.

Stopped in for a drink and it was great! Very authentic example of a Pub
Pretty terrible place. Bartenders insulting people. Kitchen closed 30 minutes early. Meanwhile the other bars in the area were packed. I suggest going elsewhere as the bartenders here are pretty rude and terrible. Bad experience. Definitely won’t come back.
Cardozo’s Pub is the kinda place you hit up when you're in the mood for a low-key, no-frills good meal. The sandwiches here are solid—got the Italian beef with hot peppers and it hit the spot, super tender and packed with flavor. The vibes are chill and dimly lit, perfect for kicking back with a cold one. The fries are crispy as hell too. Spent around $20 for the sandwich and a beer, which was definitely worth it. If you're in the area and want some tasty comfort food, Cardozo’s is the spot!
Good food, reasonably priced drinks, great service, cozy spot. Highly recommend
Tall blond bartender was extremely rude. Was going to have dinner but left due to the bad service. Would not recommend.
