Some of the best carnitas I've had in the city for sure. They were flavorful and the pieces selected were pretty good. I did ask for meat only(no skin,no stomach, etc) and I received some of the stuff I didn't want but all in all really good. I was taken care of promptly and efficient. The three start atmosphere rating is based on some standoffish behavior from the locals.

Had them this morning very very very salty and the price omg pigs meat is so cheap 13.99 a pound and the way they tasted never go back
I have gone to Don Pedro’s my whole life, I remember when the line was so long it was out the door. No one could walk inside, the line would curve all the way to the back where they would come in and come out from the kitchen. But I know things change and it’s time for a new generation. However, I didn’t think the quality would fall so bad so fast. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt and have not said anything, but this time I asked for 2 lbs of carnitas, costilla, no cuero and no oreja, but then I got this. It was all broken up, meat mixed with bones in between, that every bite was a small bone. Honestly just disappointed.
I was worried when I read no cards but when I went they started accepting credit cards and debit cards. Food is fantastic and makes you want more. You want to eat like a king and save then come here.

Went here cuz I was in the area and searched on reddit for a good spot to eat but the carnitas tasted boiled and soggy. Spent 17 dollars to just throw most of it away

The ONLY reason that I didn't give it a straight 10 is because it's not Ritzy.... BUT it doesn't have Ritz pricing and the food is SPOT on! 👍🏼

Used to come here often as a kid. For the salsa only, today, I went in and asked for that but was given the nastiest attitude instead. No thank you! Nor was I the only customer being treated awfully while in line. I won’t give my money to an establishment if that’s how they treat their guests.

Craving legit carnitas? Don Pedro's in Pilsen is the spot. I grabbed a half-pound platter—more than enough for lunch. The pork was juicy and tender, with crispy chicharrones on the side. Tacos come with fresh tortillas, onions, cilantro, and salsa. The vibe is no-frills, but the food speaks for itself. Just a heads up: they only take cash, so come prepared. It gets busy, especially on weekends, so plan accordingly.
