Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the carnitas were absolutely delicious. I also had the frijoles fritos, agua de horchata, and their salsas and they were all absolutely delightful. I'm originally from Michoacán and these carnitas remind me of the taste from back home. I've had a couple different locations from Carnitas Uruapan and they've both been great.

Rolled into Carnitas Uruapan around lunchtime and dropped about $23 on a half‑pound carnitas special, two carnitas tacos, plus chips & guac. Carnitas themselves were crispy on the edges but juicy inside — legit Michoacán‑style flavor. Tacos were on point, and the staff was chill and fast. Spot’s bright and no‑frills. Wish there were more seating, but solid neighborhood joint.

The carnitas especial were a really good value. The carnitas were very good. Unfortunately, out of the three salsas that they give you, none were very good. A chile en vinaigrette would probably have been better. I'll definitely have the carnitas again but take home where I can make a salsa to compliment the carnitas.

When I think carnitas, I think Carnitas Uruapan. This is the carnitas standard. Apart from amazing food, the service is great. Very friendly staff. It reflects the love the owner has for his staff.

Normally when I come here yhe food and the service is great. But today I visited this place and the service and the food was bad. I felt like they gave us the dry pieces of carnitas. When I asked for more they told me that they were done for the day. I guess it makes a big difference if you can speak the language or have someone with you that speaks the language. I will definitely be coming back with my son in law to see if it's a difference experience. 😡😡😡
