The “suggested” 18% gratuity turns out to be more of a “mandatory” gratuity. When I got the check and left less than the “suggested” amount both the server and the manager came to the table to collect the additional money. It was insulting and disrespectful and left a bad aftertaste to what otherwise would have been a pleasant experience. Even when the manager then took the 18% off the bill the damage was done. I recommend better training in customer service especially because this place is not inexpensive. All this over 94 cents

Blake was fantastic as our server! I appreciate his attentiveness and super friendly spirit! Food was spectacular, as always! Carson's is a gem and proud that it stood the test of time through the pandemic.

Salmon was not cooked properly. I got it with barbecue sauce and it was a very thick piece of salmon and the middle was not cooked so I sent it back, but it still wasn't cooked to my specs... I didn't say anything though. Also, when I made the reservation, I mentioned it was my partner's birthday, and the hostess Also noted that it was my partner's birthday, but they did nothing for him. No happy birthday cupcake, no nothing. The waiter , after we finished our entrées asked if we needed anything else, if we were done, said yes, and I was kind of expecting him to ask me about a dessert, but he never did.... so we left and had dessert someplace else. Not sure if they got mad that I sent the salmon back or what but I probably won't be going back. The last time I went there was about 15 years ago and I thought it was awesome. This time the food was not as great ... The au gratin potatoes were great, but the coleslaw was really soupy. I don't remember it being that way, and my partner said the ribs were not cooked all the way either.

It been a long time since I visited Carson's. The new location is a much better spot. I loved at parking was right across the street, and that they validated the parking right inside the restaurant. I will be planning to go back soon! And the Barbecue Salmon was delicious!

This was our first time eating at Carson's and it didn't disappoint. I have eaten some amazing BBQ and Carson's definitely makes my top ten. I ordered the ribs and brisket combo and my wife ordered the roasted chicken. All were amazing! Now I can't say enough amazing things about Dan our server. He was extremely knowledgeable about the food and made some excellent suggestions on how to have the chicken prepared along with sides. Service like we received is rare these days and the next time I'm in Chicago I'll be back at Carson's.

I had Turf & Turf. The filet was over cooked and tough. I was not impressed with the ribs. The augratin potatoes were very good. Service was not up to my expectations for the price and atmosphere.

Greeted when walked. Shown to a great table with water view. Waitress was great very informative and friendly. Food was exceptional especially the corn bread and Greek chicken. As was our anniversary a gratis brownie Sunday. Highly recommended

For years Carson's is the place for ribs! They never disappoint! Heather was a great server, the ribs were tender and fall off the bone perfect. The creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes awesome! Thank you!!

Always a great experience at Carson's. The baby back ribs, coleslaw, and French onion soup never disappoint, and we get those every time! This time we tried the chargrilled shrimps, which were also quite delicious, although the shrimps were a tad dry. Our server (I think his name was Ian, I wish I remembered) was amazing as well. He had no problem splitting up our one entree into two plates, and also brought us bibs and wet towels without us even asking for them, and was overall a pleasant person to interact with. We also got a nice dessert to celebrate our anniversary, which was a great touch. The value for the money is also great for the amount of good food you can get, especially in downtown Chicago. Parking is at a reasonable price ($12) for a good 4 hours, so we were able to check out Navy Pier after our dinner without having to find additional parking. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, after several years of going to Carson‘s, it was one of the lesser experiences. Food was not cooked to order, Service was trying, but everything was slow. Took us a long time to get the table, even though we had reservations and it was not crowded. Just seemed disorganized and under-managed. First time I was disappointed After probably a dozen visits.
