I have been a customer of Casa Yari for many years and have always loved the food, which is why I was excited to visit the new location. Unfortunately, this visit left me a bit disappointed. The chairs were extremely uncomfortable, which made it hard to fully enjoy the experience. I also ordered a piña colada and it tasted mostly like ice, with very little piña colada flavor.

I also noticed that the pastelón used to come with rice, but it no longer does, even though the price has increased.

I truly love this place and have supported it for years, which is why I wanted to share this feedback. I hope the team takes it into consideration because I would love to continue coming back and having the great experiences I’ve had in the past.

Dined during the soft opening at the new Division Street location. Happy to report more than half of the menu provided vegan/vegetarian choices. We shared an order of the dobladas, crunchy wrap with soy and topped with a nice slaw; a savory pastelon casserole using plant-based picadillo; and a next-level pollo chuca subbing fried oyster mushrooms on a delicious bed of plantains and cabbage. We will return to enjoy the full menu!

Best addition to Paseo Boricua and already being called the best new restaurant in the neighborhood! Yari beautifully blends the vibrant colors and bold flavors of her Honduran and Puerto Rican roots, creating truly impeccable dishes. Definitely one to watch — a future Michelin star wouldn’t surprise me! The pastelón is my absolute favorite. Welcome Back!

Run, don't walk to this gem in the city. It would be tough to name any other restaurant on this earth that is this versatile and that does meat AND (emphasis on the and) plant based dishes this well. The identity is unique being both Puerto Rican and Honduran rooted and the new location by Humboldt Park suits Casa Yari like a glove. You can't go wrong with any dish on the menu at any time of the day or week. 11/10

Casa Yari always has amazing vegan options to most of their dishes. And all are phenomenal. A flavor packed experience! I love the outstanding vegan brunch options they have.

Service was impecable and the food is amazing. Friendly staff and lots of vegan options. I had the vegan pinchos the dobladas and ended with “tres leches” vegan dairy free dessert, they were delicious. I would come back again.

What a night at Casa Yari!

I’m still thinking about this dinner. The soup was pure comfort, the coconut ceviche was bright, fresh, and addictive, and the bagre en escabeche was packed with bold, incredible flavor. The flan de coco was smooth, dreamy, and the perfect sweet ending.

The service was warm and attentive, and huge thanks to Chef Yari for the incredible job—you can truly taste the passion in every dish. An extremely delicious, feel-good experience we can’t wait to repeat!

Amazing experience at their soft launch. One of the best meals I’ve had in Chicago, a top five restaurant for anyone that is vegetarian or vegan. Their tamarind BBQ marinade is spectacular.

They discriminate on who gets a seat or who gets served. Plus the food was to salty and the waiters were very rude. Avoid this place.

Great vegan good! Our favorites are the surf and turf funche and eggs benefict (the mofongos are also very good). All of their desserty stuff is also very good, including the soursop milkshake, flan and strawberry dulce de leche cake.

Pretty much everything in the menu has a vegan counterpart (or multiple). Great place for brunch or dinner. I always take friends and family here when and everyone has loved it.

Love the restaurant and their vegan cubano.

Went here with friends and had the Pollo Con Tajadas with oyster mushrooms instead of chicken to make it vegan, so good. Highly recommended for a healthier option even if you're not vegan. Tasted like fried chicken. Good portion size. Def will return!
