Never use this place again. Had an email 24 hours prior to booking to confirm if we were going to be there and they were closed. Spent money on travel to get there as well. An absolute joke.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but the attitude of the employees here was unacceptable. im not talking about bartenders, they were actually great and polite, im referring to the server and the manager “Juan” . The way they spoke to customers was rude, unprofessional, and downright trashy. Instead of making us feel welcome, they were screaming at us to move because we were too close to a vip section that was completely empty, every vip table was empty , the only reason why we were even standing there was bc it started to rain, we were not sitting down just standing until the rain stopped. Let me tell you again -this section was completely empty, i dont see why you would scream and react so hateful and rude. So sad because i loved the place we were planning to go back but after this experience neverrr again! This is the case when the place is great but its ruined by unprofessional and trashy employees. Sad:(

I live about a mile away and regularly can hear the loud music and bass blasting. It’s unbelievably obnoxious that the bass can be heard so clearly from so far away and tends to go on for many hours.

Came here and ordered pesto pasta. Got… Alfredo with basil confetti sprinkles. When I asked, the chef argued this was “pesto made in the pan.” Right — and I suppose pouring orange juice on cornflakes makes it a mimosa.
For the record: pesto is a fresh, uncooked sauce of basil, garlic, Parmesan, pine nuts, and olive oil. What I was served was creamy noodles with some green garnish. The staff tried their best, bless them, the chef sorta redid it (which was an improvement and kudos for doing so) but they can’t rescue a kitchen that’s rewriting Italian cuisine with a straight face. Location great. Price up there.
Terrible service, even if you just stop by for a drink. Used to be cool place for many years…not anymore…

I attended the 2025 Chicago Air & Water show viewing at Castaways.
The experience was outstanding. We had the best view in the house of the airshow and enjoyed the food and drinks served throughout the day and was included in the ticket price. The service was good and most of the staff were friendly. I will absolutely go back!
One thing that disappointed us was that we arrived very early to select a seat and found out upon arrival that seats were reassigned. Perhaps management will add that information on their site in the future.

The perfect place to see the air & water show. We had a fabulous day with food & drink all day. Best spot in the city to enjoy a day at the beach!!! They have daily events that include yoga & salsa dancing and DJ’s in the evening. This place is a must visit for everyone in Chicago.

We were at table 7 and our waitress was very attentive and very patient. I didn't catch her name but she was awesome. Well worth the price.
