Food was good, but the waitress with the blonde bob had a very bizarre service. She asked us for our food order first and then our drink order, and this was just having sat down. There were maybe 3 other patrons in the restaurant at that time. Very strange!

Had lunch at Ceres Cafe and it was a solid choice! The art deco vibe in the Chicago Board of Trade Building is perfect for grabbing a bite after a busy morning. I went for their classic burger, and it didn’t disappoint – juicy, well-seasoned, and served with a side of crispy fries. They’ve also got a great drink menu, so I couldn't resist a cold beer to wash it down. Spent about $20 for my meal and a drink, and it was definitely worth it. If you're in the area, this place is a no-brainer for a quick, tasty lunch in a cool spot!

Horrible service. Waitress was so rude. Through my straw on my table. His name was Alfredo. Disrespectful, I will not come back here

You havent worked in the Loop unless you have been to Ceres Cafe. A well known establishment for many generations, this place hands down is known for their strongest beverages. Atmosphere is quite lively, so say the least.

Very reasonably priced, however, you get what you pay for. Nothing was bad, just mediocre.

Visited on Thursday evening around 6pm.
I’ve passed & heard of this place for a while, but never visited. Did a quick TT search and learned it was the place that gives you a cup of “feel good” with a chaser on the side.
I ordered a Paloma- heavy pour. Requested a side of squirt & without hesitation they brought it to me.
Excuse the food photos, I didn’t plan on recording. The food is delicious!! Which was a pleasant surprise, considering the amount of “feel good” you receive in a cup. The fried shrimp 10/10. Turkey chili 7.5/10 (I like mine w/ a kick, flavor is good though). Brussel sprouts 8/10 (needed a sprinkle of salt & crispy edges- delicious nonetheless). Sliders were tasty 7/10 (we asked for mayo to spruce it up). Wings were delicious & cooked thoroughly 9/10. Artichoke dip was decadent & gooey 8/10. Truffle fries were good, too 7/10 (homemade taste, I like em’ crisper though)- aioli, remoulade & sauces were spot on!
It was pretty much a full house up until they closed at 8pm. We dined at the outside patio. It was 6 of us, bill came out to $361. Price of drinks are very reasonable, same for the food.
I hope you enjoy feedback about Ceres Cafe 👍.
Definitely worth the experience!
Vegetarian options: Brussel sprouts, artichoke dip, fries, sliders w/o the protein, salads, and more.
Might have to tweak some of the dishes, but there are options for persons interested in vegetarian dishes.
Wheelchair accessibility: The outdoor patio is for sure wheelchair accessible; the bar looks accessible, but I am not 100% sure.

9/13/24 Friday: The waitress with blonde hair, this morning, didn’t notice me in the front for over 10mins. It was very slow there in the morning. She argued with me saying the kitchen was busy that’s why she didn’t see me. Then when I asked for the sour cream that came with the breakfast burrito (the menu says it comes with), she said that they don’t usually give her that? When I asked for an additional guacamole (since I ordered two breakfast burritos), seemed like she didn’t like that. I over heard her saying that she was going home, to another customer. So when it took a very long time to get the sour cream, she came at me saying loudly that the kitchen is downstairs and it’s a far walk. Then I asked for the guacamole again, I said don’t worry I can ask someone else if you are going home. She was talking to me again an argumentative tone, it was kind of embarrassing honestly, I said if it’s too much to ask it’s ok don’t worry about it. Eventually she came over with the extra guacamole (each burrito comes with). Just the whole experience was very unpleasant, not sure if she is having a bad day or unhappy today, maybe she is just trying to get out of there because her shift is over? The burrito was great though. Was looking forward to the sour cream with it though, was the reason I ordered the item in the first place. But by the time I got it, I had almost finished eating both.

Just had the WORST experience ever. I am a returning customer EVERYDAY for the happy hour special during lunch. My coworkers and I began coming here about 3 weeks ago because it was close by for lunch. After two weeks of continuously coming, they changed their happy hour to instead of 50% off during happy hour to 25% and we can’t leave with the food? Very strange to change the menu once a group of workers began to come in everyday. Then today, I wanted to grab a drink for happy hour so my friend came with me to do so. As we sat at a table the guy said “can I help you you can’t sit here”? We were like ok? And moved to another table. The woman kept asking what I wanted before I even looked at the menu so I began to feel rushed. My friend bought her own lunch and a gentleman came over “the owner” who we have never seen the past month of coming everyday “you can’t bring any food in pack it up now!” Definitely understand food from another establishment is not allowed but raising your voice is completely unacceptable! He told him okay no problem and he continuously went off on us after we were about to pack up her things and go. We have never experienced such service here before and this was honestly our first time meeting those two guys who were very rude although we been coming there the past month. I other people there did not recieve that type of service. Eric the bartender is awesome but I’ll never return after a grown man is yelling at two women.

Historic place. Bills itself as Chicago's most famous bar. Strong drinks and good food. Far fewer traders than years ago but still a happening place in the early evening.

Solid lunch spot. We got there at 10:50 hoping for breakfast, not knowing breakfast ended at 10:30, so ended up getting the burgers and fries. Solid burger, nothing to write home about, if not a bit overpriced. Fries were pretty banging, though.
