My recent visit to Cheesies left me with a sour taste due to an uncomfortable encounter with one of the bartenders. As a minority customer, I felt singled out and disrespected by the bartender's actions. Upon presenting my ID, the bartender, in a manner that felt pointed and unnecessary, remarked that it would expire in October, despite it only being March. What struck me was that I was the only individual in my group subjected to this scrutiny. It was evident that the bartender selectively chose to inform me about the expiration of my ID, while others in the bar, predominantly white patrons, were not treated in the same manner. This discrepancy in treatment left me feeling perplexed and unwelcome. It's disheartening to receive such differential treatment based on factors beyond my control. The bar should be a space where all patrons feel respected and valued, regardless of their background. In addition to this uncomfortable incident, the overall atmosphere felt unwelcoming. The experience was disappointing, to say the least, and has left me hesitant to return to Cheesies in the future.I hope that management takes steps to address such instances of discrimination and works towards creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment for all patrons.
