I do not understand how the reviews here are so high. I eat at a lot of restaurants. I cannot even remember a time when the food was so bad, I didn’t even care to take my leftovers home. The level of salt was so high, I couldn’t even finish 1/4 of my meal. I had gotten the Chengdu Style Dry Chili Chicken. I was there with a friend who ordered the Mongolian Lamb, which was just as oversalted. We had to try tricks like adding lime/lemon to our food, which helped but not enough. The service was incredibly terrible. They brought my friend’s food nearly 10 minutes before mine. When I asked why, they said it was because their kitchen was busy (it was a Saturday evening and the restaurant was 3/4 empty with minimal takeout activity happening). Not to mention we were there for a good bit before they had even cared to bring us water or check on us. Every time we needed the server, it took us 5+ mins to get their attention in such a small establishment - they were obviously actively ignoring us. Would never come back here. This was the absolute worst restaurant experience of my life. I wouldn’t even eat here for free.

My family and I ordered these noodles and they came cold. We told one of the employees and they repeatedly told us that it was on the “cold appetizers” section of the menu. He then brought out the menu, and it wasn’t even on the cold section, so he was wrong and we had no information to tell us they were cold noodles. The employee refused to warm up the noodles for us, a simple ask. Then he tells us that he will not refund us either, but give us a discount. How are we, a Pakistani family, supposed to know that a Chinese dish is cold if there is no description of it being cold on the menu? The person who took our order should’ve at least told us. What we found to be the most rude is the fact that they refused to even warm up the noodles for us or make us another one or give us a refund. It wasn’t right. Also, there’s better chinese food places in the city so I’d recommend trying those instead. The food here was okay.

I came here for my birthday today and had a great time with my partner. The food was amazing, service was great. And as a side note, I loved the ambiance and Khalil Fong songs that were playing. Had a great time!

First time at this location and we were underwhelmed. Found a small bone in the chicken dish. Food lacked flavor. Could have been a bad night for them, but won’t be returning :(.

The staff here are incredible! Obviously their food is excellent. Chicago knows this, but we mostly do takeout nowadays (me included).

Y’all, we’re missing out. On a random Wednesday this shop was putting out like 100+ made-to-order deliveries while giving in-house guests 5* service.

I cannot wait to get a group together for the Peking duck. In the meantime, I’ll be ordering the YuShiang Chicken and a side of dumplings at least once a week.

Thanks!.

Order pickup and delivery has been a complete mess, constantly taking forever with delivery and even for pickup, store marke order ready for pickup but needing to wait another 10-20min at store for food.

Went to eat here for the first time and was thoroughly impressed. The service was great and the food selection was massive. Was able to try several dishes and appetizers. Everyone was just so lovely here. We’ll definitely come again.

The Mala Fish was really flavorful, nice heat, rich, full bodied profile. The salt and pepper shrimp was good, the sweet/sour eggplant was very good. Nice staff, and service. We ate family style and 3 entrees for 4 people with rice was good.

We've been getting Chendgu on a weekly basis for over 7 years now and I hope we were able to at least pay for the college tuition of one of the owner's kids with how much money we've given this restaurant. It's all worth it! Best spot for Chinese in all of Chicago.
