Went on Friday with live music. Single guitarist, but still able to converse with a moderate noise level. The food and drinks were on point as always

It was such a joy as a person who has to eat gluten free to be able to choose anything I wanted from the menu! My huband and I both enjoyed everything we ordered--from starters, to entrees, to dessert. Everything was delicious! We will be backk!

Had dinner reservations for 2 at 6p. Although we were 30 minutes early we were greeted and seated immediately. The ambiance is nice, clean and not loud. While we were seated the owner CheSa came out to greet us and informed us everything is gluten free and made fresh in addition she checked on us throughout the meal. The server was observant and kept filling our water glasses. We ordered drinks, 3 appetizers-of the 3 the fried green tomatoes was our favorite. We also ordered the jambalaya and the short ribs and purple grits. We enjoyed the entrees. Everything was made with soul! Parking ample so if you want a culinary experience and wonderful customer service give CheSa's a try!

Simply delicious—from the cocktails on up. Flavorful and indulgent. Wonderful soulfully decorated restaurant. The food leans southern—short ribs over grits; crabcakes; and a New Orleans omelette. Bourbon peach waffles—so good! You would never know it's gluten free. One of my best brunch experiences anywhere.

My Fiancé and I tried this spot for his birthday. I saw a recommendation on Instagram by the Black Foodies. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming as soon as you open the door. THE BAR tender Dominique did her thing on the mixes. Our waiter, Luke, was extremely genuine and attentive. Overall, customer service was top-tier. Food is fresh to order and the music selection was on point ( neo-soul) 😊The food was flavorful also. I hope you stop by one day and try it out for yourself.

No need to go out of your way for this. The etouffee was bland, and the menu is overpriced. Ordered the cornbread with the lobster options but it came with crawfish on top. Oysters with collards were baked(?), def not charred, and overpowered by the greens. Maybe I expect too much but this experience was underwhelming.

Food is way overpriced. $20 for wings ordered, they came out 6 party wings, less than 3 whole wings for $20, first mistake. Second mistake is the drink I ordered was $17 in a short cup. Never seen a “pina colada” in a short cup. Also are made with other ingredients than listed in the menu. Bartender offered to remake but it tasted the same…. Most food was decent but really, these are steakhouse prices with less than stellar quality. People are nice, restaurant was convenient cuz we were hungry and the restaurant we really wanted was temp closed. Idk but gluten free shouldn’t be so expensive. Wanted to support a black owned business and end up being slightly taken advantage of even though our birthday friend got a nice shot offered by the bartender, it was still a very underwhelming experience for the cost. Plus they include a 20% service charge and charge you to use your card to pay the bill.

We came in 30 minutes before closing, and they still went above and beyond! Every dish exceeded expectations — we had the lamb sliders and crab cakes as appetizers, and the chicken & waffles and short ribs with garlic mash for entrées. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The portions looked small but were super satisfying. The Cajun fries were seasoned just right. Not spicy, just delicious. Service was excellent, bathrooms were spotless, and even the to-go containers were high quality. We weren’t rushed despite staying past closing. Highly recommend!

Terrible service. I went with my sister today from Florida and they weren’t even open for brunch when their signs clearly say they are. Get it together.

Dedicated Gluten Free kitchen, and the food was delicious! Raspberry mojito was amazing. Alligator dip was so good with amazing baquette toast, hard to beleive it was gluten free, the texture of the baguette was amazing. The gumbo had perfect amount of spice. The chicken wings were the best. The fettucine had such great texture for a gluten free pasta, totally nailed it. Loved chatting with Chesa! The atmosphere, decor, music, waitstaff, food were all wonderful.

Delicious food and wonderful service! Loved the Alligator dip, Crawfish cornbread, Cajun wings, Seafood gumbo, and Lobster fettuccine. So grateful for this awesome 100% gluten free restaurant. Brianna was very helpful and upbeat, and CheSa herself came over to chat which was a treat. Great atmosphere and experience.

Anyone with celiac disease that visits Chicago has to come here, the food was incredible and everyone at my table thoroughly enjoyed their food, regardless if they could eat gluten or not, haven't had such flavorful food since visiting New Orleans.

My family and I celebrated Father's Day at the bistro. The food was outstanding, and the service was fantastic, and it was a great vibe! We had a small hiccup with one of the meals. The chef personally apologized and gave us a round of drinks for our trouble. The drinks were totally unexpected 😲, but it was a nice touch! We will return.
