This is a great restaurant with a cool vibe in the South Loop that serves very fresh seafood. From start to finish, the service is great. They have a great selection of wines and cocktails. I loved the Sake Martini, my wife had her favorite Spicy Margarita. The freshness of the seafood is evident in the great sashimi appetizer with one piece of Bigeye tuna, salmon, yellowtail, unagi, shrimp and scallop. Yes, we will be back!

My daughter and I were going to the theater and decided to give this place a try beforehand. We found street parking right around the corner and in having a reservation we didn't have to wait at all. In fact it was so early in the evening that there were only two other tables. We had the calamari and the lobster roll for appetizers, both were very good. (The lobster roll comes with fried pickles, which we did not care for.) They cut the lobster roll in half for us and by the time we finished those two things we didn't have a whole lot of room, so we ordered one sushi roll each. We had the Chicago and the Volcano and they were perfect. We had one drink each and splurged on brownie a la mode ($14!) for dessert. Their prices are a bit on the high side, plus they add a 20% service charge to every bill. I didn't mind this because they are upfront about it and tell you on the receipt that the service charge is divided among the staff, and you have the option to tip additional to your server, although it's only "suggested." And they have a few amounts calculated for you. Our server was Beckie and she was very attentive so I did add more. It was $175 for the two of us so we won't do it often, but everything was fresh and delicious so for special occasions it would be great.

South loop gem! Birthday celebration 4 attendees, appetizers (calamari and crab cake) very good and tasty, calamari seasoned just right. Table hostess was very attentive, salmon blackened, scallops for the lady awesome , seafood boil tasty as well. Definitely a revisit.!!

We always have an excellent experience at Chicago Oyster House! The oysters were super fresh and delicious. Their spring rolls are the best we've ever had! My favorite is the tuna poke and my husband had the seafood pasta. The little key lime pie is the perfect ending to a great meal. All delicious! Our server, Becky, is simply the best!

Great service and ambience.. the staff was courteous and friendly.. food quality was excellent.. a little pricey but worth it.. have been there several times and always enjoy going there.. Larry B

The food was so good. They had a 3 course dinner special for $49 and it was delicious. I had clam chowder, gumbolaya, crab legs and key lime pie. The restaurant was quiet and the wait staff very attentive and prompt. Perfect for a date night.

Everything was okay and our waitress was excellent. Food was very good except the prawns were a little rubbery. Thinking about it, it was my fault for not telling our waitress since I am sure she would have corrected my order.

The lamb chops were good and the king crab legs & oysters were amazing, but I probably won't be back here again. The crab legs were overpriced, our mixed drinks were not very good, and we had to wait for our reservation/table for almost 30+ minutes when we had arrived 20 minutes early. We also had our leftovers boxed, but after waiting 15 minutes for them, we just left. Also, no valet. Overall, a good experience, but likely won't be back.

Oysters was 0/10 Pork chops with garlic just poured on top ? Mashed Potatoes with horseradish in it? Bad experience over ALL? And this was our 1st Anniversary with the worst dinner EVER! We stopped and got a gyro on the way home! After spending $242??‍♀️

Another excellent meal at Chicago Iyster House! Beckie, our fave server, is so great and welcoming. Hubby had the dry aged pork chop and it was delicious. Oysters super fresh and so good. Their clam chowder is incredible! And my favorite dish is the tuna poke. So fresh and flavorful! We love this place and keep coming back because we have never had a bad meal or experience here!

No waiting, the restaurant had a Mello vibe to it. Warm welcome feel... the 3 course meal was great with a few different options. Only thing I didn't like was the entree is only a meat. Every side including bread had to be purchased separately. And the added service fee was $30 then also taxes.. add an extra $50 to our bill....Not including a tip... service fee tax and tip was another meal plus side with bread

Great spot for a meeting in Chicago. Great food and right down the street from my hotel and convention center. If you're looking for a nice dinner while in town. Make sure to look them up.

Dinner at the Chicago Oyster House was a treat to myself. Sometimes when you go out to dinner solo the staff treat you weird. I did not feel that way here. Jason took care of me, giving me recommendations, and making sure I had everything I needed. It was a perfect evening- will do again!
