We were really looking forward to trying this joint after reading the reviews and our love of BBQ. The cocktails were good and the burnt end appetizer was outstanding. However, when it came to the ribs, we got the combo dinner, which includes half a rack of baby back and half a rack of St. Louis, they were bone dry. The char and the smoke was perfect, but they were so dry and needed sauce to eat. Was hoping for a better food experience. Lastly, the waiter did a good job and was responsive but he had zero personality.
We've been to Chicago Q a number of times and it never disappoints. We had hush puppies (who can resist?) and brisket nachos as well as the Mac n cheese. So delish! Eric was a fantastic server! Will definitely go back again and again!
I had a fantastic time celebrating my birthday at Chicago Q with friends, including a friend who has the exact same birthday as me! We had exquisite service and yummy food. Our starters were the fried green tomatoes, brisket meatballs (they are served on a bed of hot jalapeno grits), hush puppies, burnt ends and alligator. My main dish was split with the birthday girl and it was a true treat: a bone in short rib nestled on a rich bed of mashed potatoes-delectable! Imagine our surprise when we were treated to not one but two lush birthday desserts: Triple chocolate cake and carrot cake! It was a wonderful experience from top to bottom. I wish I recalled our server's name because she was excellent! She suggested the short rib :)
Great Southern Meat fare. Order any Benedict at brunch. Build Your Own Bloody Mary bar is always fun to try.
The single most memorable dining experience I've ever had. Incredible BBQ with very generous portions. The Mac n' cheese is a must try. Went here for my fiancée and I's birthdays and received the most wonderful cake. In addition, the staff were incredibly attentive and kind. To top it all off the pricing was very fair for what we received. I cannot wait to be lucky enough to dine here again!

Food was good. They need to invest in some type of pest control for the outdoor dining. Bees were flying everywhere.
Great place and food with many options.

I was pretty excited for this since I love BBQ and was sincerely hoping this would be one of those good spots considering it's reviews. Well... let's get to it.
Food: Mac and cheese was the best here. Mashed potatoes came in second, fried green tomatoes and wings tied for 3rd, and the Pitt Boss Platter was the worst. The briskets were dry and that should have been one of the stars of the show in my opinion. The pulled chicken was also dry, but that was within expectation. The pulled pork was ok. The sauce assisted just as it did with the pulled chicken. The sausage was the best out of what was put on the plate. Not worth the 50 dollars. I could drive 2 states over and get BBQ that is exceptionally better by all standards. The smoked wings were dry and luckily the sauce was there to bring back some moisture. The ribs were also terrible. My fiancé couldn't stomach the ribs and she almost threw up after a couple bites. Overall, the food was severely disappointing.
Service: The waiter we had spoke so quickly and answered our questions with annoyance. He checked in from time to time, but the attitude needed some serious adjustments. Unless this is a Chicago thing? I am from out of town, but it seemed as though the entire staff didn't want our business. It was so bizarre. Some people (not our waiter) who delivered our food seemed friendly enough, but it was almost awkward at times like they didn't know how to talk to us or what good communication was. I did notice that our waiter was much more receptive and friendly with another table. So this definitely rubbed me the wrong way. We're paying customers too.
Atmosphere: Fairly comfortable and generally clean.

Really yummy bbq! Really enjoyed our sandwiches. Brisket, pulled pork, and sausage all in one! And the fried chicken sandwich was delicious as well! Very generous portions. Great sides, the mashed potatoes and cornbread were delicious. We ate out on the deck since the day was beautiful. The house made chips and pickles were some of the best I’ve had. They also have multiple sauces for you to try.
Wonderful food and service. But, they have jumped on the money grabbing wagon that the restaurant business is drowning in - we want you to give us 3-4% percent for operational expenses. And now the new one — we are going to charge you an additional 3% if you use a credit card! Even though it's actually a business expense that we can deduct! Shame on them 🤬
First timers there, reminded us of kind of a higher end BBQ. Lovely atmosphere, nice tables, lovely atmosphere and no paper plates and other things that would be typical of the type of bbq joints we are used to. The menu was diverse, a nice selection from which to choose. My Old Fashioned was exceptional, spouses bbq platter was very good, my mac and cheese however was a bit salty and the pasta was very overcooked but overall the flavor was quite nice ... if you go and you like your pasta al dente you should ask; I should have thought about that. For the price of restaurants in Chicago, this seemed very fair. Overall, we will definitely go back the next time we are in Chicago.
