Love the food tastes really good. The pumpkin pie was to die for the only problem with this place is that it is a little bit on the price your side, but that’s what you pay for when it comes to high-quality food I guess also, everything is vegan, so they re-create dishes to representa meat like substitute without the meat like sushi

The service was wonderful and very informative about all the food...they even had samples of their raw pizza which was very good...I'll definitely be back for more!!!

Simple grab and go style joint, food is cold but so so wonderful.
Recently had a bad experience they left the samples out too long & was aware it’s “been sitting there for a while” said by the cashier after I tasted it… I told her it is fermented and she offered water.. that’s unacceptable because now my stomach hurt. Please do better.
I recently visited Chicago Raw for the first time and had high hopes given their mission and dedication to raw, plant based cuisine. As a vegan of eight years, I’m always excited to support businesses aligned with conscious eating and wellness. That said, while the environment was welcoming and the staff incredibly friendly and professional, the food itself left a lot to be desired.
I spent around $70 to try a variety of items from the menu. The presentation was thoughtful, and I could tell a lot of care went into sourcing and preparing the food. However, the biggest issue I encountered across nearly every dish was the lack of flavor balance.
• The hummus, for example, was overwhelmingly acidic, the lemon was so dominant that it masked every other ingredient. It wasn’t bright or refreshing; it was harsh.
• The mustard served with the meat patties was similarly intense, far too tart, to the point where it distracted from the patty entirely.
• The sushi, which had a pumpkin seed filling, again suffered from poor flavor balance. It tasted like an over-concentration of one or two ingredients, lacking the nuance and harmony that make plant-based sushi enjoyable.
• The granola was okay, nothing too special but decent enough.
I fully support what Chicago Raw is trying to do, offer clean, health forward meals, but there’s a crucial distinction between food that’s “healing” and food that’s palatable. Raw food doesn’t have to be bland or overpowering; it just needs the right touch. Unfortunately, it seems like many of the dishes could benefit from the expertise of a seasoned plant based chef, someone who truly understands how to layer and balance flavors in raw cuisine.
If I were to return, it would likely be just for a smoothie. I genuinely appreciate the service and the positive, professional energy of the staff, but the menu, as it stands, needs more refinement.
Final Thoughts:
Love the mission. Love the people. But flavor is key, and currently, Chicago Raw misses the mark on that front. I wouldn’t recommend the food to anyone who’s truly vegan or on a raw diet.

Happened to stop in here on a recent work trip and was so glad I did! I could hardly decide what to get because everything sounded so wonderful! I ended up with a Thai inspired dish with kelp noodles that was absolutely delicious.

I tried a snickers bar and an assortment of bars. Great a quick grab and go. I little pricey but not surprising for a raw foods
Absolutely love Chicago Raw Foods! The food is top notch and perfect for those who enjoy vegan/raw dishes. For those who are not vegan and are looking to better quality of your health, energy, and overall wellness I would also highly recommend. The staff and Polly the owner were fabulous and treated us like family. Very knowledgeable and overall lovely experience ! Will be back soon☺️!

I recently started going to this store and planned on continuing to support this business, but a disappointing experience has changed that. A dessert I purchased grew mold within two days, despite being well within the expiration date. I provided clear photos with timestamps, but the woman I spoke with (possibly the owner) refused to replace it because I did not bring the moldy food into the store. She said customers “take advantage” of the store and blamed the mold on condensation rather than acknowledging the issue.
Unfortunate and incredibly disappointing as I was willing to keep supporting this business despite the high prices. However, the lack of accountability and unwillingness to compromise lost them a customer.
I have never left a bad review before, but my hope is management learns from this interaction and will reconsider how they handle situations like this in the future.

It’s so tastey and nutrient rich. Don’t be put off by the price everything is made from scratch! I would eat here everyday if I could.
Best location for the best of the vegan food we love! And an excellent selection of pure chocolate options
