Chicago Sweet Connection

Went to the store on a Sunday, was told they couldn’t give me a price to call Monday. I then called Monday and was given a price. I proceeded to let them know I was ok with the price. They said great pick it up Saturday. Friday afternoon I have yet to hear from them so I called. Some lady that refused to give me her name said no order was placed and that any there was nothing that could be done. All she could say was sorry for the misunderstanding, meanwhile I am stuck with no cake for a large party. This type of service is terrible and unacceptable.

The last time I was in this store there was a sparrow flitting about in one of the glass pastry display cases in with all the pastries.
So, when I say 'last' time I really mean it. Eat food from here at your own peril. I walked out without purchase.

This place is a gem! I usually get the Atomic cake; it's moist, rich and just delicious! The staff is friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth!

I’ve been coming here for years but the past couple of weeks the pastry is not as good as it used to be . The cakes were very dry and stale, cream taste bad , the powdered sugar on the napoleon cake is crumbled and humid . I literally had to put it in the trash I wouldn’t feed it to my family.

My family and I have been coming here for years. Unfortunately the quality has gone down. The cakes were stale and the cream in one of them was sour. You would think it would be more fresh given its the holidays.

From an 18-wheeler's perspective:
Very hospitable management and co-workers. Employees appear to be very diligent with their respective job requirements.
Because of the location, no overnight parking is available. Street traffic is active while attempting to back into the loading dock which is tight because of limited area to move and vehicular parking on shoulders.
As I indicated, the people I interacted with were very nice, but docking is tight but they helped with traffic control.
Quick in and out.
Would I return? Yes

Ordered a tres leches birthday cake and was actually bad, too much milk. Also I heard boss is terrible to their employees they deserve better and better pay. He never gives them raise. This place needs to close down

I ordered a cake from Sweet Connection (through a 3rd party) and they did not make the cake as ordered. I was present when the 3rd party called Sweet Connection to make sure that they could put a picture on a full sheet cake - they were asked if they could blow up the picture to make sure that it covered the full sheet, we were told yes. They were asked to make 3 layers of vanilla and one layer of chocolate. When I picked up the cake, right away I noticed the the picture on the cake was regular paper sized, they did not blow up the picture to cover the full sheet. Cake was beautiful regardless but it was not what I asked for or what they said they would do. Then it was time to cut the cake at the birthday party and that's when I realized that it was only vanilla. Half of the party didn't eat the cake because they were also expecting chocolate!!! If there were any confusions about the flavors, Sweet Connection should have reached out!! Of course, there is email proof that I ordered 2 layers vanilla and one layer chocolate and they only provided 2 layers vanilla... When we called to ask for some sort of discount or reimbursement, they declined. Thankfully the 3rd party I ordered through graciously gave me reimbursement. Talk about bad service from sweet connection.

This place have the best sweets anywhere. From delicious pies, cookies, to cake's. I love stopping by when I have a sweet tooth. CSC never disappoints.

Your strawberry cheesecake is scrumptious

Friend picked up a birthday cake and it was obviously made at least the day before and a little stale. Reading through the reviews, it looks like this is a common issue for them. Very disappointing.
