I love my black own business, doing such a great job, taking care of their customers. And catering service is great five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ restaurant loved and recommended anyone from Chicago and out of towners to come.

Besides the food it was good but for myself and a big group of us to come in out of town to enjoy the food, I did not enjoy the service, they have some light skin black girl with a short cut black bob that did not have any great customer service. She lied to us about the way then after 45 mins of being there they finally say that they don’t have no drinks but water from the sink to service us and orange juice. We ask if it can be on the house since they are out of drinks, she said no and kept telling us we knew so we gotta understand and that it’s like this on Sundays. The other half of the party left due to the long way and the only thing was good was the chicken. Afterwards she said two people couldn’t split the ticket we all pay as a family but another waiter from another table let the whole table pay separately. I wouldn’t recommend this location I honestly wish we picked a different located but know we all know not to go there anyways especially for the first time and from out of time sucks. Hire better employees with better attitude and that knows how to talk to customers

Holy Moly can't get the smile off my face. The soul food is fricken amazing!!!! My husband and I have officially found our love spot. My husband said this place shames every place we have ever been to. We are currently requesting to be adopted by the owners. The banana pudding put tears in my man's eyes. Ladies and Gentlemen of this fine establishment you have out done yourselves.

Visited from out of town. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Lots of options to choose from. There's something for everyone. Food was very flavorful. I went for brunch but I'm going back for dinner before I head back home tonight. I want to try more of their delicious food!
Edited to add I later had the peach cobbler because i took it to go. It was a disappointment as it didn't have much flavor. If you love sweet & savory peach cobbler this isn't it. It was about $8 and the portion was really small. I was okay with that because more of it would have went in the trash. The real food was still great, and I'd recommend it.

Y'all didn't disappoint. I came home to Chgo to hang with fam for the weekend and I was in the mood for it all. Catfish seasoned well, wings ok but, even had meat in my greens, the red beans n Cajun rice🔥 Plenty of soul food restaurants to choose from but not all make the cut. You did that!!!!! Thanks!!

Highly disappointed in this visit. Food was what tasted like overly reheated. The wings were so small that they gave me 4 instead of 3 and that still really amounted to 2. The wings tasted like they were cooked the day before and then threw in the air fryer to attempt to reheat it. NOT SUCCESFUL. The waffle was basically like rubber. It was so hard to cut through and tasted funny. I can't describe the taste but it was different in a bad way. The most heartbreaking thing was the cobbler. It was clearly a day old and reheated until the crust had that rubbery texture and taste as well. I have been trying to convince my husband for about 3 months to go here and it was a EPIC FAIL. The server was nice enough when I explained my dissatisfaction. It was probably the worst food experience I have had in a very long time.

Today was very disappointing. I come here often. Server was nice. Food disappointing. I tried the Shrimp and grits. These were the second worst that I've had in my life and I would not recommend. I ordered a skillet to go and it was prepared incorrectly. The server took it back. This review is higher only because of the server and the music. Hopefully, my next visit will determine if I'll continue to patronize this establishment after years of being a loyal customer since they opened years ago.

I ordered a catfish fillet meal and it came with two fillets. This was a carryout, when I got home my fillets were not cooked to order, not fresh at all. I had two sides of greens which were put inside of the foam Tray unsecured, and the juices spilled in the bag, It was not properly secured and very poorly packaged carry out. This is not the place.

I visited Chicago Chicken and Waffle this morning for my niece birthday and was highly upset.
We ordered our food and the food came out with a piece of hair in it. My daughter ordered and orange juice and there was a fruit fly floating in it. We returned the items and the guy just nodded he head and took the item no apology nothing. I won't be turning!!

We were in town for a workout event and stopped by this Gem for the 1st time, and everything was absolutely amazing. The staff was friendly and patient. We loved all the food we ordered. The one thing i would say is that the Mac and Cheese needs more cheese and some smoked gouda. Other than that, I have no cons to eating here. They were quick food fresh, and they have real greens with smoked turkey. I definitely recommend this place if you're in Chicago.
