We recently did take out at China Gourmet and loved the experience! We called for take out super close to closing and they were gracious enough to accept our order.
The food itself was absolutely excellent. My partner says “best lo mein I’ve had since coming to Chicago!” The meat for every dish was super tender and well seasoned. Veggies in the lo mein were a little under cooked but considering how late we called, the food was amazing!
We will definitely be coming back!

Food doesn't have to be expensive to taste good! I thought i would spin the block on this place one more time. Nope.... food is still soooo mediocre and made for those who care more about quantity than quality. All meat is soaked in starch, so the texture is slimy!! Chicken wings are veiny, large, and strong! Only thing good is the white steamed rice and the won ton soup is surprisingly good. Tastes fresh

If I could give them 0 stars I would!!!! I’ve made a huge order from them to feed me and family. I tipped them really good and then I found hair in my food so I called the restaurant and they sent me a new one. I found hair in the next bowl as well!!! Truly disgusted and I will never be ordering from this place again! Their reviews are horrible, people find roaches and hair in their food. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

I just order chicken fried rice and beef fried rice. I remember when china hut had the best fried rice. I don’t know what happen today, but the food was awful. I mean the rice was under cooked. I’m not sure if they sold the business to someone else but the food was not the same. When I called them at 10:47 they didn’t pick up the food, when they closed at 11:00. I feel like they knew they sold me some nasty and old rice. I’m so sad to say that I won’t be spending my money here no more at all.

I ordered the hong kong steak (t-bone) over vegetables this would have been good but the entire dish was overwhelmingly SALTY! Even after rinsing the steak off to remove some of the salt it was still extremely salty! The white rice didnt help cut the salt either! After seeing the picture of the roach in the food in another review i will never return.
Something has changed in there recipe I ordered sezwuan beef how ever u spell it and mostly big pieces of ginger that over powered the meal it was disgusting and the other one I ordered was orange chicken that really didn't have much chicken mostly fried pieces of dough . I would never order from them order from thorndale or the place on western Ave in Rodgers Park area

The food is to die for! At least what we ordered. The Short beef ribs are too good. Beef Pad see eiw is amazing, full of flavours. Shrimp fried rice was great too. Also ordered the thai crazy noodles- Full of authentic thai aromatics but little bland if that is your thing, you would love it. I loved it. Mongolian beef and scallops were great too. Such a great taste. Just not a good dining experience so takeaways would be better option.

Stopped in today Saturday may 31 2025, for a quick bite to eat shortly before 5pm. Purchased Sm Combination fried rice & 1 egg roll, first off they sell Spring rolls. NOT egg rolls. There is a difference it was decent, the fried rice was terrible. Shrimp the sz of baby snails & pork & Chicken tasted recorded, and if it had been stored in a dirty refrigerator , foods stored in refrigerators absorb its Odors, 10$ wasted. After throwing my food away before leaving, I dined in. I I used the washroom before leaving. It has a Unclesn/ unsanitary Stench. With a sign poted Please help keep bathroom clean.Cleanliness goes beyond the eyes people. The Nose and Taste are just2 of our senses, highly disappointed

I ordered fry chicken wings and it tasted stale from the day before I took it back chiney lady said it was precook so I was right I will never buy stale fry chicken wings from them anymore 🫥
