Really good ice cream. Me and friends went here today since everything was closed and we thought this place would be mid.But, man this ice cream really is good. I would say it’s even on par with basking robins or prolly even way better than that. I would recommend the dark cherry and coconut scoops which was recommended to me by one of the employees. Also, I gotta say this is also the only place in Chicago that is very hospitable and service is amazing. The employees gave us many flavors to try before proceeding with our order.Vegetarian options: Vegan marshmallows

This place is great at first glance! The ice cream is the best around. However, the prices are astronomical and they give you minuscule-sized scoops. I bought a single scoop cone & three scoops in a cup and my total was $40.00. Also, they don’t accept debit/credit cards…most likely so their business can avoid paying fees. But not to worry - they have an ATM in the shop that charges a $3.00 fee, so they kindly pass those fees onto their customers while at the same time grossly overcharging for their product.Furthermore, the ice cream that they sell here - “Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream” is a Wisconsin brand and is sold in numerous select shops throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. Go to any other ice cream shop that sells this brand of ice cream and you will pay almost half of what you are charged here and receive generous portions for your money as well.Finally, the reason I am rating so low is because this place is always decorated with anti-corporate/anti-greed artwork and messaging, so I find it rather hypocritical that the same people who feel this way like to grossly overcharge their customers.

After years of driving by, I finally visited and I’m so happy I did. The decor and aesthetic is so insanely cool, as someone who loves Halloween and all things different. They offer you MULTIPLE free samples like brownies, hot chocolate, and when I couldn’t have either because of the dairy, I was accommodated with a non dairy option. Not only do they have vegan options but they have eight different kinds. You have your regular flavors and fun flavors (chocolate chip oatmeal cookie, blue moon, Oreo, etc). They have vegan brownies and the waffle cones are non dairy/non egg. They are so kind when you ask about allergens and never made me feel like I was bothering them. I can’t say enough great things about this place. Will be returning.Dietary restrictions: Vegan or non dairy/lactose free.
