We made reservations weeks in advance for my 30th birthday. We came in after an early dinner for drinks and dessert, hoping to enjoy the sunset and view. When we told the server that we wanted a bottle of champagne and dessert, she said "Hold on, let me check." Weird? We thought they were out of champagne, maybe. Nope. We were told tables were for "dine in" only, and we could sit at the bar. Apparently ordering a bottle of champagne over $100 and a $30 desert for 2 is beneath them even though their menu was offered to us on crumpled printer paper. We left without ordering anything and spent our money elsewhere. I would never recommend them or return. Such a shame as the view is beautiful.

This restaurant was recommended to us on an architectural tour. As new locals, we were excited to try it out. It touts itself as an upscale, fine dining restaurant. Even going so far as to reiterate the business casual dress code multiple times. When we arrived, the hostess that greeted us was dressed in a midriff shirt, hardly the dress code they expect their patrons to adhere to. The restaurant was uncomfortably warm but I could overlook that. The menus were loose paper copies stapled together which, again, doesn't reflect the fine dining experience they try to exude. The service was lackluster at best. Our waiter only has us and one other table in his section but the attention to service was very much lacking. The wine we ordered was mediocre so much so that my husband couldn't finish his glass. The photographer going table to table was very off-putting and barely took no thank you for an answer. The food was decent but I've had far better for far less price in other establishments. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and we were so thankful that we hadn't brought any guests with us as we would have been terribly embarrassed.

I don’t even know where to start. How about just scratch Cité off the list of locales to visit for an enjoyable evening out!? The decor is dated and Citè menu prices give new meaning to “sky high”; most items ridiculously priced for the mediocrity in the palate pleasing department.
Our view was possibly the best part of the evening, and even that could have been improved.
What I most want to warn patrons about if you are still interested in this place after all that ….is the obnoxious & rude behavior we received from our server Jorge. His service was particularly atrocious. The server’s tone and manner were curt & snippety the entire evening. From the time we were seated & ordered drinks until the moment he took it upon himself to deliver our check to the table —because HE decided we were done dining! At one point when the server Jorge was asked about a menu selection, he replied: “Didn’t you view the menu before coming in?” As if it’s a requirement that we should’ve viewed the menu prior and have no questions of him! The complete audacity! I can’t remember the last time I was this disgusted & appalled by bad service.

The two stars allows for the pleasant service received by others. The server that kept water filled was pleasant enough. Alexa, the hostess was very accommodating as we earlier changed our reservation time and she was overall pleasant throughout the evening.

I ordered Lobster-bisque soup but don’t know if it made an impression with all the snide service going on.

Best recommendation I have is to go elsewhere.

I was excited to take my fiance here for our anniversary. The view looked beautiful and it was nice that they had a romance package for our reservation. When we arrived it was clear how pretentious this restaurant is. We ordered the lobster bisque for $18 a bowl. It had almost no lobster and a single small cracker that was called a biscuit on the menu. The food that was offered was boring and highly overpriced. We weren't excited about anything on the menu. On top of this, the restaurant was HOT! The AC wasn't on and it was very uncomfortable. We ended up leaving and had dinner somewhere else. When I asked for the check, the manager came to my table, said “you're not having dinner?!” and took our menus without saying anything. Very rude. I went here knowing that it would be expensive, of course it's going to be. But it needs to be worth the money when there's a city full of other options.

One of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been too in my life. Service was never there only took our order, never came around when needed and had to wait 25 mins to get a drink so we didn’t even get one. They don’t split bills so before you come with a party be prepared, but they said it was their policy and doesn’t state it online in there terms and conditions. Asked for a mgr and said they didn’t have one there. On a Saturday night I find that hard to believe. Everyone returned there steaks since they were not made correctly and it was very inconvenient. I will compare it to a longhorn steakhouse but triple the price at best honestly and 20% gratuity is automatic as well and wasn’t even worth a tip. Also, be prepared to be harassed by a photographer during your meal to take pictures when clearly we are eating and don’t want to pay for pictures.

It was a huge disappointment. The food wasn’t that good for how much it cost and we had to ask 3 times for our drink to finally come. After seeing our waiter just one time after we ordered there was a 20% tip added automatically. Our service did not warrant that kind of tip at all. Will not be recommending this to anyone in the near future. If you want a gorgeous view and mediocre bland food then this place is the place to be. The cherry on top was the waitress stealing 10 dollars from one of us. Angelo was amazing when we mentioned something on the way out about her not giving our money back, he instantly went and fixed it for us. He is the only good thing this place has going for it. And also Adam downstairs was awesome and so kind also! They both need raises!

We have been trying to get in touch with this restaurant to host a private reception for over a week. The hostess has left messages with the staff but no one has responded. Very unreliable so beware if you are hoping to host a private event here.

2 stars for the fantastic view and the delicious drinks. The risotto was very good as well.
We had reservations for 5pm, the restraunt was not ready. Still setting up tables, no hostess, after being seated, it was 20 minutes to be asked if we wanted any "special water". Then another 10 minutes for our actual waiter to ask if we wanted any drinks. So the staff did not do well. We were the only people in the restraunt until after 6. And when the main courses came we knew why. Wife's $70 filet tasted like stew meat and my lobster tail was way over cooked. Dessert cake was cold and dry, not good. With the location and view of this place, if they had halfway decent food, they could be fully booked all year. But since the food sucks, we, and im assuming many others, will never be back.

Best view in town! However going there again reminded me of why I don't go there more often.Poorly trainined staff: Disorganized reception, restroom not clean, bartender not friendly...same as last time I visited a few years ago.
Food: Tomahawk stake and lobster for 2 ($295). Lobster ws good, stake was ok. Don't get the lobster bisque ( worst I have ever had). Dinner for 2 was over $500 at this I don't expect perfect but all should be good.

LOL. Please do not fall for this tourist trap. We were sat next to a dehumidifier (disgusting) at a table that had NO view of the skyline. A trashy photographer to match the trashy interior was flitting around taking "free" photos of every other couple trying to survive dinner here. The drinks were undrinkable. The food was inedible. All for a cool $200+. I have never felt compelled to leave a negative review but this one is deserving. If you're looking for a romantic date night spot in Chicago... look somewhere else.

We made reservations a week in advance on open table, we get notification and confirmation. All that sudden three days before we couldn’t find the reservation anywhere even though we had the reservation number and screenshot. They never answered the phone!!! We called se eral times several days. Disappointing
