We went here for my cousins birthday brunch, party of 7. But our experience wasn’t great. Our server took a very long time for everything. Like To order, I had to ask for straws twice And apparently napkins too. Waited like 5-7 minutes For each mimosa refill and apparently they stop the refills 15 minutes before 3pm so be aware of that. They won’t tell you. So we had to rush when they’re the ones taking long. I’d say take your money somewhere else like La Cocina in Uptown
Oh it was weird seeing kids in an environment where people are drinking. I would never bring a kid to a place like this

They have a bottomless mimosas ad. Servers were awesome btw. But bottomless means bottomless so buyer beware. If you actually take advantage of the offer, the owner will find ways to block you from ordering more. Lmao. This might sound nuts like how much can you drink. But that’s the deal, and after only 2 bottles they blocked the entire group from ordering more. Buyer beware!!!

We went to Recess for brunch. They have a variety of items to pick from. I had the avocado toast. Quite tasty. Service was excellent. This restaurant has a very cool vibe. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful Experience at Recess – Ask for Lucia! We had an incredible time at Recess in downtown Chicago, and our waitress Lucia truly made the experience outstanding! We were a party of ten, and she handled our group with absolute ease and warmth. We never waited for a single thing — drinks, food, or refills — she was always one step ahead. Lucia was friendly, engaging, and made us feel like family from the moment we sat down. Her attention to detail and genuine personality really stood out. We ended up staying for about three hours because we were having such a great time — the atmosphere, food, and service all came together perfectly. The food and drinks were delicious and very reasonably priced for downtown Chicago. The venue itself is great rain or shine, with a fun, lively vibe. We can't recommend Lucia and the entire Recess staff highly enough — they made our day one to remember!

Incredible! My husband had the mac and cheese with mushrooms and pulled pork. He's called it surprisingly and unexpectedly delicious. Exceeded all expectations
