Dog friendly bar. I lived across the street 30 years ago took my first dog there. I moved away but every time I come back to visit I bring my dog. Great selection of beer, whether draft or bottle, or can you'll find something you like. There is a surprising amount of space, courtyard seating, as well as a small ante-room where you can hide and drink beer when it's lawn mowing day. I miss Gene the old owner, he was a solid guy and of course his dog was named Cody. The new owners are doing a great job of maintaining the quality of this neighborhood gem.

Really fun time on a Saturday night. This place is alive. Also, love the amount of dogs that are here.

Great place to go early. Good beer and spirit choices. Great staff. Quiet early, lively later. Hopping for Cubs games, before, during, and after.
Bring your dog if they get along with others, or pet one if you don't have one.
Bigger inside than you think.
Cody's Public House is a great neighborhood bar with a friendly vibe and a solid drink selection. The atmosphere is relaxed, with plenty of TVs for catching a game and a nice outdoor patio when the weather is good. Service is usually quick and attentive, making it an easy spot to hang out with friends. It’s not fancy, but that’s part of its charm.

Super cool bar with free popcorn. Gotta say once they close the patio on weekends it’s kind of unbearably packed in there but when the patio is open you can find a place to sit down with ease.
Such a great place! Had so much fun. Highly recommend.
Went for the first time this week with a new puppy and none of the staff spoke to me or acknowledged me at all the entire 30-45 minutes I was in there. It seems to be the type of place that appreciates their regulars but is not very welcoming to newcomers. Going with a group would probably be fine but if you’re solo and just looking to get a drink or bring your dog somewhere, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
There was also a reactive dog (on a leash but owner was not holding on to it) right by the front door that lunged and barked at my very calm puppy as soon as we walked in. That’s not the staff’s fault but it’s something to be aware of if you are thinking of bringing your dog here for socialization or training around distractions.

A great Chicago dive that is not just dog friendly, but dog culture is incorporated into the vibe.
No food, but it's well worth the stop, or many stops. It is worth coming to, and it also serves as a great neighborhood bar as well.
