I found this small coffee shop in Chicago by accident, and I’m really glad I walked in.
I ordered a matcha latte and a cappuccino, and both were excellent. I drink matcha lattes often, so I can tell when the quality is real and here, they use very good matcha. The flavor was smooth, clean, and balanced, not overly sweet, just honest.
The cappuccino was also beautifully made, with soft milk texture and a rich espresso base. You can feel that they care about the craft.
The space is simple, warm, and filled with natural light. Nothing loud, nothing forced just people quietly enjoying their coffee.
Sometimes the best places are the ones you don’t plan to find. I’ll definitely come back.

I'm an unfortunate coffee and matcha snob & this place serves thanks to their consistent lattes and matchas (that aren't loaded w syrups). I stopped searching for the best dark-roasted coffee beans (and matchas) thanks to the Coffee Lab. The cherry on top? All the employees there are super kind. Limited indoor space so I recommend going during the weekdays.

I’m forever searching for really good local roasted coffee beans so we finally got to Coffee Lab and so far it’s high on my list. I like that the two times we’ve been (just after Christmas and then on a Saturday) their supply of beans was limited- they don’t sit around too long. I did get to take home a bag of Rawanda beans which were so good. The lattes and cappuccino are excellent.

Their matcha is GOOD. Rich and dark. Less than 14 seats, 5 tables. Summer time they got a couple chairs outside. Has fast wifi. Workers are always very nice
