Colemans used to be good back in the day but not today. Rib tip combo ordered could barely taste the sauce unless you digging down to the bottom where the fries are ribs was chewy hotlink not hot taste like they boiled it first then try to grill it but whatever they did it took the flavor from the hot link wings bland as hell

Haven't had this in a while, bought a mini tip which was enough to satisfy, ofc prices are up but the tips weren't seasoned

Coleman's #2 Still got it! Some of the best BBQ in Chicago. Prices are ok considering everything in the U.S becoming costly...

I ordered the large tip and was pretty disappointed. My food looked like scraps of meat that was poorly put together. There quite a few bones and the meat was very chewy and fatty. I also felt the made sure to count the French fries to be certain that everyone got exactly ten of them. The taste wasn't bad but I've definitely had better from a place that don't even specialize in tips. I'll stick to what I know. I only ate it because I paid for it and it was $16.

I was 15 when I had their food when I visited my cousins in Chicago. However, I'm getting ready to be 31, so I haven't had it since I was a teenager.

Went here yesterday because my husband said it was good. However I received mostly scraps of what was supposed to be a mini tip. So did my son. I ordered 2 minis and one 6 piece chicken wing dinner and all of it came with bare minimum sauce. Skimping on sauce is something we should be used to but not if I pay for quality and do not receive what I pay for.

Customer service is not friendly and the rib tips are not done. They are too-tough.

Disappointed and Underwhelmed: A Far Cry from the Coleman's I Remember.
I recently ordered the rib tips and hot links from Coleman's—what used to be a trusted name in Chicago barbecue. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing.

The hot links were incredibly tough—honestly, it felt like biting into a bowl of Cap’n Crunch. Completely overcooked and difficult to chew. As for the rib tips, they were dry and lacked the smoky, saucy flavor that once made Coleman's a go-to spot. The worst part? There was no sauce at all—just dry, flavorless meat. On top of that, the fries were soaked in grease, making the entire meal feel heavy and unappetizing.

Back in the day, I remember spots like Daisy’s and Fern Dean’s serving up top-tier BBQ. Coleman's was once in that league, maybe even a close second. But what I experienced on this recent visit puts them at the bottom of the list. This was, without question, one of the worst rib tip and hot link meals I’ve ever had.

If this is Coleman's new standard, they’ve lost their edge. As someone who grew up on real Chicago BBQ and now lives in Georgia—where we take barbecue seriously—this was unacceptable. Step it up or step aside.
