For a few years my fiancee and I have been coming to Commonwealth Tavern, partaking in weekly trivia night. The ambiance, food, drink and service have always been exceptional. Especially the service, with Ron being an above and beyond bartender. Ron is always welcoming, hard working and remembers our order, confirming his exemplary work ethic. 5/5 stars.

My fiancée and I are regular Wednesday night patrons for trivia night, and we always look forward to seeing Ron behind the bar! We started coming into Commonwealth when we moved into Roscoe Village in September 2023, and Ron was always so welcoming. By the third or fourth week of us coming in and sitting at the bar for trivia, he had memorized our beer orders and had them poured and placed in front of us within minutes of us sitting down! Ron is such a staple of Commonwealth Tavern and we can’t imagine a Wednesday without him.

Walk by this place all the time walking my Husky... seems rather popular so finally decided to give it a try for a business lunch. The cheese curds here are mind blowing... the best I've had south of the Wisconsin border! light tender not greasy... I had the commonwealth burger... delicious, juicy and their fries were tasty too. Their chicken atop the salad was moist tender and delicious. Loved the open windows and being able to hear roscoe village outside :)

Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Cheese curds are amazing, the wings were a bit soggy but the apps are good during brunch. Definitely coming back here when we visit the city again.
My wife and I have been coming here for years, and for good reason. It’s really our default go-to for sports, good beer, and good food. Staff is always excellent and there are no bad seats in the house, regardless of what you’re there for. Great patio as well when the weather allows. Many great memories here with more to come, and I highly recommend a visit (and the buffalo chicken wrap).

The food is incredible here. I often have healthy salads with grilled chicken. It’s better food and healthier food than a lot of the other restaurants in the area - including sit down.
