I have finally made it to this neighborhood dining spot near 6 Corners thats been recommended to me by many friends / colleagues.

This place was packed on a Saturday night and is well regarded by area patrons.

I went here to try their double cheese burger with skinny fries. This burger is up there with Little Bad Wolf and Gretel. The meat to bun ratio is satisfying with a super flavorful and unctuous meat patties. The string fries paired perfectly with the sandwich.

I also ordered an opener of kimchi fries. The fries, smothered in Merkts cheddar, was crispy and cheesy. The kimchi was a good contrast with its acidity and tartness from the fermented cabbage. However, I am not a fan of carrots and found it a bit strange to have it added to the kimchi. Every place Ive ever had fresh kimchi at traditional Korean diners, never has carrots been added to their kimchi. Nonetheless, still enjoyable.

Lastly, skip the oysters. It was tasty but extrememly small!!! Barely tasted the meat itself, very disappointing. The oyster meat should be no smaller than a Kennedy dollar coin, this was smaller than a size of a penny.

Regardless, will definitely need to come back and try their noodles.

Trendy, eclectic restaurant we tried while in the area. Reservations might be required. We waited about 10-15 minutes for seating with reservations. The seating was "cozy" and uncomfortable, plus it was loud. Our server was engaging and helpful. The short rib dumplings and papaya salad were a hit. We also tried bibimpap with steak, which was way undercooked from the requested med/well. The crunchy noodles were different. The lemongrass soup was extremely salty, but doable. The Alaskan was decadent and enough for 2 or 3. There's an extensive wine and craft drink menu. I feel we are excellent tippers, what I dislike are added fees on top of gratuity. There is an added 4% fee to cover the healthcare costs for the staff. Then the 20ish% gratuity. So, pushing 25% of the total bill, to pay the employee's health insurance is part of the experience here.

Nice space and interesting cocktails.
Stopped in for their highly rated burger, which was good. But i really enjoyed the noodle and fusion dishes.
A little pushy on ordering entire meal at once. It's a little challenging when some plates are tasting and some plates are for sharing but not easily deciphered.
Will visit again.
Peace

The food and service were excellent, but overpriced. I disagree with adding surcharges to the menu -- I fully support a restaurant wanting to provide employees with health insurance, but this should be reflected in the prices, not with an additional surcharge. If you want to bring attention to that fact, then state in the menu that you are proud to provide heath insurance to all your employees, and reflect that in the (already high) prices.

I was an early fan of Community Tavern and still am. Community Tavern is like going home. Food that is complex yet filling, prices that won't break the bank, staff that knows the community, a happy hour for ordering all the dumplings and old fashioneds - which, I have to say, I could eat the dumplings ALL DAY LONG. Absolutely one of the best dishes in Chicago. And OMG the COCONUT CAKE (I am a sweet tooth - and if you like sweet desserts, this is for you). Community Tavern is a go-to restaurant for amazing food!

This place is just great, man. Food as good as any pretentious restaurant in town, served without any of the pretentiousness. The perfect mix of upscale and approachable. Love it here. And if you’re not feeling the “fine cuisine” vibe, the cheeseburger is fantastic. Love it here.

This place offers a wide mix of food choices from Asian Fusion to burgers. The atmosphere and service was good. Food was decent but nothing to rave about.

I was disgusted when I received my check. 1st, they charge a 4% service fee for employees health insurance that totaled $12.00. Then due to the number in party a 20% tip was automatically added. This is fine but on a $300 tab the establishment’s 20% turn out to be $62.50 instead of $62.00. What kind of math is this?

I don’t agree with establishments charging diners for employee health. Build it into your food prices! This is the cost of doing business. How do you want to have airlines charging 4% on your ticket for employee health? Or banks, supermarkets? I would think this added service charge only benefited the restaurant owners because their employees still probably have to pay for their insurance premium, co-pay, etc., so I did ask them to remove this charge.

Second, the calculation of 20%? 20% is 20% doesn’t matter how you calculate this. If they overcharge a little on each table, it will add up to a lot. Shady business practice unfortunately. I didn’t bother saying anything to move the $2.50 because I won’t be back.

**(oh, so I figured this out, they charge you 20% tip on top of your 4% employee health care service charge) when they removed the employee health service charge of $12.00 they still charged me 20% tip on it. Very creative accounting!

We came here on a special night, had a reservation, the table did not have napkins, silverware and water glasses even though they knew we were coming. The value of the meal did not adequately match the food that was served. For what they were charging they should be in the Loop and not six corners. The service was adequate but the restaurant was noisy and crowded. I don't believe the flourless cake should be thinner than a cookie. IMO we spent over $900 for a meal that should have been valued for less than half of that. PS: if you have a peanut allergy, don't come here.
