Stopped by Community Tavern in Portage Park for dinner around 5:45 pm during happy hour. We grabbed the Werp Farm Carrots, mushroom dumplings, and their famous Community double cheeseburger with skinny fries. Flavors were bold and the burger was solid. Service was top‑notch and the vibe relaxed but polished. Only thing—menu felt heavy on carrot dishes, but I don’t mind. Totally worth it. Friendly spot with character.
Husband and I had a fabulous experience and dinner here at Community Tavern. We arrived a few minutes early. They opened promptly at 5pm.
They filled up quickly on a Friday evening. Seated with a smile. Pete was our server, offering suggestions, but the dude hustled. This placed had everything out and hot , fast. I absolutely love this place. My boyfriend and I have gone more than a few times and have tried just about everything on their menu and haven’t had a single thing we didn’t love.
The drinks are even better than the food! Rob is the best. Absolute legend. He makes us something fun every time we stop in!
