Bounced into Congress Lounge last weekend—solid spot with cozy leather seats and dark wood vibes, perfect for a chill night downtown. I grabbed a Boulevardier and a spicy mule, plus an order of savory bar bites. Drinks were top‑notch, bartenders were friendly, though service lagged a bit. Love the scene; definitely coming back for round two.

Stopped by the Congress Lounge inside the Congress Plaza Hotel after a long day downtown, and it was just what I needed. The place has this old-school Chicago charm with rich wood and comfy leather chairs—feels like a step back in time. Ordered a classic Old Fashioned, and it was mixed just right. Also grabbed their Mini-Cheeseburger Sliders; they hit the spot without being too heavy. The bartender was friendly and knew his stuff, making the whole experience smooth. If you're in the South Loop looking for a chill spot with history, the Congress Lounge is worth a visit

Let's start with this: Allan. The Lounge experience was so intimate and special! I asked the bartender Allan to tell me a story about his life and he told me!! After that, I kept ordering drinks because he was so welcoming. Great recommendations, great service

Stood at the bar for ten minutes and no one acknowledged my presence. Went down the next night (A Saturday evening at 9pm, not terribly busy), sat at a table and again wasn't acknowledged. I wouldn't recommend stopping by this place with so many other places available.

Hope you're a female at the bar otherwise you just won't get service. Was sitting at the bar for 15 minutes with my wife and the bartender refused to even glance at me while she was ordering.
