I ordered a case of the CJ’s pub sauce, medium heat, I have cooked several hogs a year and serve it with CJ’s pub sauce. It is by far the best sauce I’ve ever used. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Nice little friendly neighborhood place. People r very nice n welcoming.

A great place if you're sick of smarmy bartenders who take half an hour to mix up $15 drinks. Old school Chicago taverns like this are a dying breed and C&J's deserves credit for staying true to their beer-and-shot roots even while modernizing.

Silver Cycle

It was fun place years ago when the owners were there. Now adam the bartender is not hospital to the people that go there. Rude not polite especially to local that spend years going to the bar, hope they fire him

Cigar Wizard

Place changed last time I went, but it is a very nice place to chill and hang out. Although they have beers only, no tap. It was a pleasant experience.

Okay, so they blew our delivery order. Ordered a full meal for four adults. Pizza, salad, wings, and some pop. Received the pizza and one pop. A hour later received the balance and a complementary sparkling wine for one. Expected better from a premium restaurant. Do better.

The one review of this place (from 2013) it made me laugh out loud, feel jealous that I hadn't written it, and try this place out (after a few barfly friends from Go Tavern also recommended it). I have been going here for a few years -- and Rob R. was dead on. This is the kind of dive that John Waters would have hang out in if he lived around here, and I've heard a Chicago Fire location scout BEGGED to use this dingy time capsule but Connie couldn't be bothered. I can't possibly add anything (except one more star) to Rob's insightful review -- but thought I would update it as sadly Connie has passed and now her somewhat eccentric relatives are running the place. The one new bartender is a relative -- "just call me Chef!" (he says, while wearing a chef's jacked, even though they don't have food.) It otherwise thankfully remains largely same except it was given a good, deep and desperately needed cleaning. (Though I will miss sitting in the ladies room and being almost hypnotized by the dust sleeve that was slowly sliding off the ductwork in one continuous piece). The beer is cheap and cold. There are shots instead of cocktails. The music choices are sometimes -- odd. There is usually an interesting and loud conversation going on with the regulars. They still close early (like 9 or 10 - or when they feel like it). The regular bartenders can tell you everything that ever happened in this neighborhood for the past 20 years. When you get tired (and if you live around here, you will) of the omnipresent and oh-so-precious $12 craft cocktails made with live sage and an eyedropper of Ukrainian bitters...then drop in here sometime (come early) for a cold Miller Lite and just spend the (cash only) singles at the bottom of your bag.
