This is one of the worst food experiences I've had in my life. When we entered off the street we came in under a really cute sign and were hoping for a nice Gastropub! Turns out that it is just a hotel restaurant. We had 8 o'clock reservations and we got there 15 minutes early. They wouldn't see us even though the restaurant was half empty so we went to sit on one of their couches in the bar and they wouldn't let us sit there cause they said it wasn't a place to wait. However, the bar was empty. But the worst part was the food. It was absolutely disgusting. The salmon was dry and sitting in something like Campbell's tomato soup. We got the risotto which was literally white rice with canned mushrooms in it... Sent that back for the fried chicken sandwich and it was burnt. There was only one waiter who was overworked and didn't know anything about the menu. The prices are way too high for the low quality. I honestly would rather eat at a McDonald's. Do not waste your time.

This is a side restaurant to a hotel vs full restaurant. Menu sparse and while they spruce up the sandwiches,

Oh my God, the waiter Kerry was amazing. He sat and just had a great conversation all about Chicago and just giving us inside and he was very attentive. The food was amazing. He was very helpful and just gave us great service five stars all the way all day.

They were waaaaay understaffed, went on a Monday night and the place was basically full. Looked like they had one cook, 2 servers, and 1 host for at least 15 tables. Took us an hour after sitting down to get our food. Our appetizers and salads never came. Food was meh, especially considering the price. Hopefully management staffs the place up!

The team was pretty accommodating at the start of the evening, but quickly became inattentive. I had finished my drink and all of the water at the table before finishing my food, and there was no offer of anything more to drink. The food was unremarkable and more expensive than better food at other nearby options.

Basic food, basic service for a hotel, seemed to be short staffed,as wait times for service and to be served food seemed longer than they should be, but it seems everyone is dealing with the same still post COVID, my wife and I were staying at the adjacent hotel and went to Gastropub once for brunch(which was super basic omelette, nothing special) once for just drinks (super good old fashioned) and lastly for a small bite (shared mac&cheese, which ended up being served watery and not very cheesy).
I am sure they can do better and will in time. Will stay in the hotel again, so I will be trying Gastropub when I come back and update this review when I do.

Decent service and food during our first visit for dinner. When returning for breakfast the French toast we received had a huge spot of mold on the bread. We sent it back and ordered a waffle. Tried charging us for both the French toast and the waffle. Server then comped the waffle which was the replacement for the moldy French toast. Will not be back.

Came for dinner while staying at the Courtyard Marriott/Downtown.

First note was the calm and aesthetic atmosphere. Customer service was excellent and the Lumo Crab Hush Puppies as well as the Shrimp & Grits were surprisingly good. Copper Fox Gastropub is giving elevated fine dining. It was so good in order the whole meal over to bring to my room. 100/10.

Next time I’m in Chicago for work this will be the go to spot!
