Food was hit or miss. Tuna crudo was amazing, Peruvian ceviche was gross. Brisket taco was average, fish and steak tacos were good.
This place was top notch, the food was amazing, the service outstanding, the ambiance beautiful and the drinks, wow, sensational. Oh my God, the churros desert smothered in chocolate and ice cream, phenomenal. O will be back with friends.!!
I really hate to rate a restaurant negatively but we really hated this experience. Asked if we wanted water, and being offered sparkling, still etc we just asked for still, we didn't want “bottled water”. Just unnnecessary, but whatever. The mini trompo is a sleight of hand scam. The “show” is clearly reused with the “cooked” product likely mass produced in the kitchen. No trompo sliced fresh from the spit has sauce like this, and really terrible tasting sauce/extremely fatty. The tacos were beyond overpriced- understand with the location however- overhead is expensive. Cocktails were balanced but nothing special. Plates/glasses weren't cleared until we asked, just kept piling up and the server seemed put out when we asked. The main courses came our way too quickly. We had were barely halfway through our apps. I didn't mind the 20% automatic tip, because I never top below that but if it were my option I probably would have tipped more BUT the pay at the table code scan basically FORCES you to add more. NO. I laughed at the obviously unenforced dress code, which was fine with me to be honest. They just make such a big deal out of letting you know about it it will give a person anxiety because it's so ambiguous. Everyt My just felt like a scam to add $$ to the tab, hospitality was entirely missing. Too many other amazing places nearby and way too many MUCH better Mexican food and cocktails in this city at half the price to take this place seriously. This place is in competition for the worst of Fulton market. You couldn't pay me to come back for anything more than one margarita and moving on. Sad. Had guests in from Paris. Wanted to show them something special in Chicago but that didn't work out. I didn't even let them see the bill to avoid trying to explain things.
Had the best time. The service was amazing! Food was great and the drinks were a whole moment.
It was my 3rd time visiting Costera and every time I feel like I'm in Tulum. The drinks and food are top notch.
Ashton was an amazing server! He had great recommendations! Definitely will be coming back!
Went to happy hour. The drinks were both excellent and highly recommend. Did not love the food. Did not love the price for happy hour for food. Felt like it wasn't a good value. Focus only on the drinks.
Came here for a dinner for two. The ambience was delightful, the service by Vanessa - she was attentive and patient with us. However, the food - where's the imagination? The taste just fell short of good. We will come back, but solely for the drinks - thank you bartenders and servers for saving the night.
It was my birthday and they made a rude comment when I walked in saying I was already drunk . Then they said the bar was closed and we couldn't order drinks . I asked for manager and he let us one buy one shot for each person . This was a bad experience!
Ambiance was a 10/10 definitely a new fav spot!! I will say the food was not outstanding. portions are good but the taste is not fully there. I tried the carne asada and the blend of tastes with potatoes and mole were not as good as I was expecting. The lobster tacos were tooe but they def need more seasoning or a sauce/salsa to make the flavors pop more. Just to note my plate of food was taken from me without being finished so that was sad😭 The drinks were okay, I tried the signature whiskey and presentation was good but taster watered down. Overall atmosphere is great for a girls night out. Got good pics inside very aesthetic.

I had high hopes going in, but unfortunately the experience just didn't live up to expectations. Unfortunately the food was a miss for me, for the prices, I expected much better quality and flavor. The drinks were surprisingly expensive, and not in a “worth the splurge” kind of way. They tasted fine, but certainly didn't justify the price tag. Waiter failed to disclose the drastic up charge for top shelf—paid $48 for a margarita. Service was okay. Not terrible, but not great. Ambiance was nice, although the space felt crammed. Too many tables in such a small space. Overall, it wasn't a good experience. Between the bad food, overpriced drinks, and forgettable service, I wouldn't recommend this place, and I won't be returning.
Ashton was a great server! Immediate ambiance and vibe when you walk in. The queso fundido and pasta dish with street corn were great. The Barbacoa tacos and tuna tartare were also good. Loved the margaritas, though we learned the 4-6 happy hour only applied if you're sitting at the bar. That was disappointing but again, great quality margaritas. Would happily return!
We had an amazing time celebrating my husband's birthday! He loves Mexican food and we got the Al Pastor! They set our food on fire at the dinner table. The meat was attached to a pineapple. The food was absolutely delicious! This restaurant has great food and a great atmosphere. The staff is also very friendly.
We were late due to traffic and they were so accommodating and understanding, the food was 10/10, the ambience was great and brought a dessert out for my husbands bday. We will definitely return
First time at this location and it was perfect. Planned my bridesmaid proposal brunch here and I couldn't picture a more perfect spot. Our wedding will be in Mexico, and the ambiance was perfectly fitting. Staff was very attentive and quick. From taking our orders to taking our pictures LOL. Couldn't of asked for a more better customer service.
