I'm a neighborhood guy who's been coming to the cove for years. If your a regular this bar is like a second home, but if your not, the feel is different. Cove is Cheers is in real life. If they know you you'll feel like Family. If they don't, you feel the cold chill of a passerby. The smell is something to get used too not that pleasant. But once your there awhile it blends in with the environment. The service is ok except for the bartenders are so cool with the locals they may be out back getting high while your trying to buy a drink.....this sucks as you'll be waiting 5 or 10 minutes for a drink when it's not even busy. The music is good cause you have a very selective juke box that has everything under the sun A+ for that. I love that the bartenders have such a great connection to the customers and they are good a making drinks as well. Someone just needs to remind them of the importance of EVERY CUSTOMER NOT JUST THE REGULARS.

Enjoying a Henry Clay War Hawk at a great bar in Hyde Park. Great bartenders. Great people. If you smoke cigars and you're not smoking a WarHawk, Santa wants to know why!

I was physically assaulted right outside because a man thought I stole his backpack even after I told him it was mine. The assault was violent to the point my nails got ripped off and the bartender didn’t really care and was making excuses for him because he’s a regular. For your own safety, especially if you’re a solo woman, I wouldn’t recommended you going here. Not only may you get assaulted but the owners don’t really seem to cate care. I’ll be filing a police report of course but please be careful going here.

Best place ever to drink with friends in a lowkey environment

Buddafly

Decent bar. It was pretty cozy. Came here a while ago and tossed back a couple of drinks with a buddy. It's a neighborhood bar where everyone there knows everyone. You can tell there are a lot of regulars. We had to park about a block away due to lack of parking close to the bar. Decor was interesting

Local spot. No food. Great crowd and staff. An episode of Chicago PD tv show recently was shot here.

It’s an affordable place to get a drink and play games. The bonus is that they’re pet-friendly.

Very lowkey and intimate feeling. Has a touch tunes, good drinks, friendly bartender, and lots of games!
