has become my favorite pizza place in the city. Im not obsessed with NY style, but ingredients are noticeably top notch, whether I do the Margherita or build my own. Dough, sauce quality and ratios are important to me and it’s hard to find places that take their dough and crust more seriously than here. When I return to Chicago from out of town, this is my comfort food.
House salad is also awesome if you enjoy a mix of flavors. I like the olives and Champaign vinaigrette combo. So good.

Their slices are good and cheap, though very limited times to get them. Decided to order a whole Pie and it was so soggy. Cheese was just mushy. The ricotta was not in the format I expected at all.... There was too little of it and it had the consistency of cottage cheese. Did not have the ricotta flavor at all. Unfortunately, it was also overly salty. Had higher expectations for the place after occasionally buying their cheese slices...which are decent when craving some pizza. It was not bad persay, but it wasn't great either. Thought about trying to order the pizza well done if I ever try this place again...but the underside of the pizza was already burnt so idk
John at Craft Pizza is the epitome of Chicago hospitality. He very graciously let my wife and I use the bathroom before we ordered while a busy art fair was happening around the corner, which is a kindness that's sorely lacking in this city's business community. Craft Pizza is lucky to have him as an employee.
