This place is a vibe. The customer service was nice and the music was dope. Despite the Crisp BBQ sauce being to spicy for me, the chicken was really good! I had the Crispy Chicken Bowl with Crisp BBQ sauce and 5 wings covered in Crisp BBQ sauce. Next time I go (which will be soon) I'm going to get the Seoul Sauce because it was soooo yummy! The Atomic sauce was good as well. It reminded me of their version of a yum yum sauce.

Atmosphere gets a bad rating because they have no ac. It is hot as heck in there and it ruins the whole experience. Food was good. Get it to go or delivery.

Full-circle Flavor at Crisp – A Decade of Wings and Memories
Back in 2012–2013, this little wing joint on N Broadway was our go-to date spot. My then-girlfriend (now wife!) and I would ride our bikes from Montrose to the Griffin Museum and always end our day here—hungry, happy, and craving Crisp’s unforgettable chicken wings. It wasn’t just the food—it was the feeling. The warmth. The welcome. The perfectly crispy wings that made everything better.
Life happened. We moved to Austin. But we never stopped talking about this place. Crisp became our gold standard for wings—no other spot ever came close.
Fast forward to July 2025. We drove 1,000 miles back to Chicago, and of course, made a beeline to this beloved spot. Same cozy vibe. Same incredible wings. And the same staff spirit—welcoming us like first-time guests at a non-denominational church, full of warmth and smiles.
But this time, we brought someone new.
Our 10-year-old daughter.
And sharing our favorite wings with her in the place where it all began?
That was the real full-circle moment

Would definitely recommend the individual fried chicken options over the bowls for both value and taste. Chicken can be a bit dry, and are done more like traditional fried chicken instead of Korean, but the great sauces definitely make up for it. The sweet garlic soy glaze is fantastic, but the spicy sauces are too hot IMO. 4 stars for the sauce and chicken, bumped up to 5 stars for good value.

Had the Baby Buddha Bowl with chicken. It was dry and had too much black pepper. A lot of rice with nothing to moisten it but soy sauce (and a fried egg). Not much into picnic table seating with strangers. Lastly, the music was way too loud to hear others in my party. I (and everyone else) had to yell to be heard. Not a great dining atmosphere.

Wow. This chicken was incredible. Crispy, fresh, seasoned properly and plentiful! The 10 piece was way more than enough for 2 of us. The service was quick and friendly, but the chicken. Omg I wish we had one in Miami.

I ordered the Chicken strips with the Sassy sauce. The chicken strips were definitely not fresh. They had the texture of chicken strips from a frozen bag at Costco. To their credit, the menu does not claim the chicken strips are fresh. I went back and looked and it said their wings, drumsticks, and whole chicken are fresh never frozen. The menu does not claim the same for the chicken tenders. I only ordered the tenders because I have tried the other fried chicken before. They tend to overcook the whole chicken and drumsticks. This time I tried the tenders. No good. I also had the Bad boy buddha. It was fine. The fries were nice and fresh. Overall, I will not come back for the chicken.

The chicken wings are very crisp, but the sauces are all missing something. The best sauce is probably, contrary to their recommendations, the buffalo wing sauce.
But now let's get to the thing that really dropped their score--I had the chicken sandwich this past Sunday, and it was without a doubt the worst chicken sandwich I have ever had. And I'm including fast food places like Burger King and McDonald's.
My chicken was so dry on this chicken sandwich that it was literally like chewing chicken jerky.
You know how when you break apart beef jerky and you can see tiny hair like fibers sticking out (these are just ultra dry tiny fibers of muscle that break when you tear the jerky apart)?
Well that's what was happening with my chicken sandwich.
Never had anything quite like that.

The food is amazing and delicious. I highly recommend wings with sassy sauce, or if you want something a little spicy, try the BBQ ones. Bibimbap and fries are good too.

Omgosh, this place is great. My first coming to Crisp and staff are amazing as well as the food. I got the Korean Fried Chicken (it was so fresh, crispy and delicious) kimchi(I know where to get my fix for next time) rice.

What happened?! I remember Crisp was the spot for good food. The wings (w/Sassy) sauce could not be imitated. Stopped going for awhile and decided to stop by today for a pickup. Very disappointed. The tenders with the BBQ sauce had a lot of breading and the sauce tasted spicy, which made it difficult for us to eat. The wings.....barely any sauce and tasted like wings at any other spot. Not sure if they changed hands or recipes but you can tell the difference. It's not the same and that is a shame. Will not be visiting again.
