Inside the Filipino grocery called Seafood city in Skokie IL. Nice staff. They have all meat dishes. So not much for vegetarians and filipino food doesn’t really include a lot of food for vegetarians anyway. I was really looking forward to the dessert with sweet plantain and the crispy light wrap that’s deep fried. It was $4.98 and it was big enough but disappointing bc it was not hot and not Enough brown sugar And it wasn’t juicy. But it was nice to find it in this grocery store when you don’t wanna make it yourself. But if you are hungry and want to not deal with cooking… why not. Plus you can go food shopping here at Seafood city and it’s a decent place with lots of Asian food.

Your eggplant torta is so good😅 it's not even put in any spices, then it's not eggs but flour. It will hurt badly

Extremely rude service. They make you feel unwelcome. Food is okay for what it’s worth, everything is fried so you can’t really go wrong other than with health.
The old titas working there have terrible customer service. While waiting in line we were ignored and given attitude when trying to get noticed so we could order. We were overlooked three times in a row. When ordering we asked for a specific part of the fish for a dish, but when asking her to replace it she got mad and tried to serve our large size container with less than half the amount of soup and no vegetables. Had to complain to get her to properly fill it up. Did not communicate anything other than mouth clicks and snappy movement to convey an annoyed attitude to us.
If anything is wrong, it’s been better to politely communicate it to the customer, especially when the customer isn’t yelling and is just confused.

My go to place for bagnet and other filipino dishes, they have been a pricey place always, its a trade off for convenience… it has a good selection of dishes and there’s also other restaurants next to it plus the grocery store.

The lady in charge is busy on her phone!! She shouldn’t use her phone while handling with the food.

Lots of different seafood options that we can’t find near our hometown. The mangoes are always delicious and the location is great.
I was waiting for the crispy smelt to be cook. While standing observing the person removing the chicharon bulaklak from the hot oil, he then threw the smelt on the same hot oil. I questioned the lady helping me and said that they do use the same oil with everything and shrug her shoulder. So I just walk away. It's gross. This practice of cooking should stopped.

Nice girl who helped me pick out food by weight and adjust. The hot items were ok. Luckily you can order as little or as much. The surprise standout was this coffee jelly. Pretty tasty and has different chewy textures and taste. There's a green pandan version too. Really enjoyed this and worth a try!

i bought a fish from this store today, worth $24, the Tuna collar for soup. it was not fresh at all. when I cooked it, it smelled like an expired food and the soup kept on bubling like its full of bacteria already. I didn't eat it at all. I called the store and was able to talk to the manager, and told him, I'm worried about customers who will buy the same fish. and so he said he's going to refund me. The next day, I went to the said store and was able to talk to this manager guy,a filipino tall guy by the grocery area.. he said he couldn't do a refund. instead he said, i could grab any grocery worth $24. Is that how they do the refund? plus, he would raise his voice while talking to me. sounds like he doesn't want to hear a complain. So I just went and grab an ice cream to cool down my feelings lol. the worse is, the store is still displaying the same fish today. danm... what? what a day!
Very good experience here. Many Filipino foods and fry dries with a small American twist. Several restaurants and other services in the store-all Filipino. Would go back and would recommend. My wife is Filipino so for us is a no brainer.
Mostly rice for nearly $9
I ordered bagnet and monggo for a side yesterday night. I can’t smell but can taste. And the monggo tasted weird to me so I ask my wife to try it and she said it was spoiled already. Panis na po yung binibenta nila. Also the bagnet was not crispy at all. It was worst than gum. I should have ask my wife if that was panis too. Maybe it was.Not happy. I mean the name is called crispy town. At least they should make them crispy. Not going back there.
Very very bad. Calamari was cold and hard. Smelt was cold and hard. Chicken skin was cold and hard. You can't really call yourself 'crispy' town when everything is hard and chewy. Bad food. Almost unbelievable how bad it is. Zero stars if we could.
