This restaurant is part of the W hotel. I was only staying there one night, but I wanted to take myself out to dinner solo. The first drink, the Sweet Rose and the entrée the Blackened Salmon were delicious! Both items had great flavor profiles and we’re really tasty. The problem came at dessert, initially I wanted the chocolate cake. However, it took service staff 15 minutes to tell me that they were out of chocolate cake upon making another selection that donuts that took an additional 30 minutes to arrive. It was obvious that other orders, particularly those on the patio to the priority. When dessert finally arrived at 10:15 PM rather than receiving the blueberry compote, it came with plain white icing, as well as the other two dipping sauces, caramel and chocolate. It also came with five regular size cake donuts, dusted with powdered sugar which which is too much for one person. In general, the dish was too sweet, and the flavors just weren’t there just sugar. Two of the donuts were also slightly burnt, I assume with the kitchen trying to finish out orders. If the restaurant has the opportunity to make changes to this dish, I would swap the cake donuts for a yeast donut or beignet. And for your sauces, do a raspberry jam, a salted caramel, and a chocolate mousse with the powdered sugar on the side. I also wanted to pair the desert with another drink, so I got the Gold Rush but that was just bitter and sour in a bad way and again needed something to break up the flavor, like mint or time or basil. Though , the tail end of my meal didn’t end well, the wait staff were nice and super apologetic, and even gave me a discount for the super long wait on the dessert.
From what I can tell this restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. There were five or six steps to get down to the restaurant portion of the hotel. When I looked around the corner to see if there was a ramp, there were three steps leading up back toward the lobby. If there is a ramp to the restaurant portion of the hotel, it is not clearly marked or in view for hotel users.

Had a great lunch at Current outdoor patio at W Hotel. More people need to find this spot. Great views of Lake Michigan. Great cocktails and food. The bartender was very helpful. Loved my Black + Blue steak burger with salad. Husband had salmon with cauliflower rice.

The food was good, wait staff was impatient, the food came out wrong, but most important, the vibe was trashy. Smoking in the dining area, vulgar music played way too loud for conversation. Would NOT recommend.

Rather disappointing. I've been there for breakfast several times now and the food tastes old and is overpriced. The cappuccino was more like filter coffee with warm milk. The service is friendly, but the food is not recommended.

Great food, better service, awesome atmosphere.Chef Joc is very professional and took the time to meet and listen to everyone who dined.Prices are very comparable to the downtown Chicago area. Mo and Anna Maria served with excellence and were very clean and orderly.
