Food is dependable though I do just like bread and cheese. Unfortunately uses door dash on their website delivery which doesn’t talk to their “estimate” timing and seems to slow the process. Waited literally an hour and 45 minutes for a delivery that was a ten minute drive at most (the price you will pay for not just walking th 30-40 minutes). Something they need or figure out operationally but again, the food is decent if you like simple,

I keep going here because the calzones are so good. The vibes are on point, especially with the tv randomly showing nature documentaries.
Quick service, delicious food, solid location…what more could you ask for?

I was thrilled when I sat DP Dough was available in Chicago now! 10/10 every time. I usually get the Roni Zoni or the Buffer Zone.

Ordered the pesto cheese sticks and the mac and cheese calzone. The only flavor in the meal came from the dipping sauces unfortunately. I wish there was more seasoning in the food itself.

I strongly advise against providing any services to the owner of this restaurant. He will block your phone and ignore your invoices for equipment repairs, leaving technicians and service providers out of pocket. Not only that, but I would also recommend avoiding purchasing food from this establishment. The kitchen is extremely dirty, and the refrigerators frequently overheat and fail to maintain the proper temperature for food safety. This is a clear sign of neglect and lack of responsibility. Proceed with caution.

we used to have a DP dough right across my dorm back in Champagne. it was a late night favorite with fat calzones. I'm glad that they've upgraded to Chicago, but these are not the same calzones that we fell in love with years ago. dry and flat barely packed with anything. not to mention it takes 20 minutes to make just a small half calzone so I hope you're not starving when you get here...
Yea this place is "HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE". Last night, We ended up going there because "Poor Decisions Chicago" said they was open. We drove there & was closed instead. So just lookng for food on google we I seen "D. P. Dough". So went went there, I got the "Combat Zone" & my boyfriend got the "Roni Zoni". He ate his food the minute we got home. I ate a little bit & put it up. When I say the next morning I warmed up my food & it tasted exactly the same. I'm talking still fresh, no soggy crust, cheese re-melted perfectly. I just fell in love with a calzone.
So yes you guys D.P. Dough is a highly recommended eatery. They don't have dine-in tho.

Been meaning to try this place so I did some late night takeout from here. Staff was nice, but no one told me they didn’t have the cheese for my cheesy tots so I was bummed when I opened an order of plain tots when I was home. The cheese sticks were mid too for what I paid for all this, BUT the calzones made up for my disappointment over the apps. I had the ‘Twilight Zone’ which is Italian sausage, mozzarella, and Italian spices. It had a nice hint of spiciness to it that I loved and it was so much flavor and cheesy goodness. Also, I had the BBQ Chicken calzone that had breaded chicken and bacon tossed in bbq sauce and melted cheddar. I could have eaten a whole extra of this one because it was just that good. Definitely will have calzones from this place again. And the edible Reese’s Pieces cookie dough is fire. (I think I’ll pass on the appetizers next time, though)

DP Dough currently has a ghost kitchen named Mac man on the Grubhub app, and after looking at the reviews of the actual food, they cook there's no difference here with the mac & cheese that they have in their ghost Mac man Company. It was terrible. Cheesy tots were horrible. Didn't even want to eat it instead I made it frozen mac & cheese meal that tasted way better what a shame. What a shame. Smh

Ordered my calzone at 4:30pm and it’s now 6:10pm and the food still has not delivered. I called 2 times to check on the status and Sam sent me to the front where I sat on hold for 10+ mins. I called a 3rd time and reached the front and they told me the manager could give an update and sent me to wait on hold again. I called a 4th time and Sam answered again. I asked if I could speak to a manager and not get transferred to wait again. He claimed it was rush hour and to call back in 10 mins. I told him I had already waited on hold for 40 mins to talk to someone who could give me an idea when I would get my food. Finally frustrated I told Sam never mind and I would just never order from there again. I understand it may be a busy time but clearly there is some mismanagement happening as I’m still waiting 1hr 40 mins for food and no one is able to give me an update.

I ordered 2 calzones with pesto in them. neither one has pesto. Do you guys not have pesto?? If the owner can confirm pesto on the menu. I will be happy to change review and turn it positive as I am a fan of D.P. Dough if the owner addresses

First time ordering from D.P. Dough, we ordered the Roni Zoni with Mushrooms, the Macalo (buffalo, fried chicken, Mac and cheese), cheesy bread and the hot wings. Everything had a good flavor, I would just say the calzones could have had more filling. The Roni Zoni in particular was light on filling. Highly recommend getting your calzon with the garlic parm topping! We'll definitely be coming back to try more calzones!
