Chris went above and beyond to accommodate allergies and every special request we had. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out — the food was absolutely perfect! Booking The Carter with D’Absolute Catering was hands-down the best decision we made for our wedding. Chris, the owner, is an absolute class act—professional, thoughtful, and so generous with special touches that set him apart. He let us create three custom cocktails, even ordered extra Campari just for my mother-in-law, and was flexible with guest count when last-minute changes came up. Those gestures meant the world to us.
Denisa, our day-of coordinator, was truly the glue of our wedding day. She seamlessly managed vendors and executed every special detail—from our family wedding photo gallery wall to little décor touches we cared so much about—so we could be fully present. Stefan, the venue coordinator, brought such energy and warmth. From every tour to the wedding itself, he made us feel celebrated. One of my favorite memories is seeing him right after our ceremony—he greeted us with our signature cocktails and appetizers in hand, making us feel so cared for.

And the food—wow. Having worked in restaurants, I care deeply about a good meal, and our guests are still raving that it was “the best wedding food they’ve ever had.” From the appetizers to the entrées, everything was perfectly executed and beyond delicious.
The Carter and D’Absolute gave us the most beautiful setting, unforgettable service, and a meal that elevated the entire celebration. We are endlessly grateful for this team and could not recommend them more highly.

We absolutely loved all the food options served by D’absolute during our reception! Every guest complimented the main course and expressed how they have never had such delicious wedding food. The late night snacks were such a hit we had guests call the following day to rave about the mini hot dogs and burgers. The flavor and presentation was incredible, thank you to the D’Absolute catering team for such an incredible experience! Chris helped us make our wedding meal selections at the tasting. It was great advice, and everything came together superbly at the Carter. Meals delicious and reasonably priced.

D'Absolute catered the food for our wedding at The Carter, and everything was delicious! Chris and Denisa are wonderful to work with and made sure all of the catering was perfect for our day. Several guests complimented the food (it came out hot for everyone!) and said the service throughout the night was top-notch.

D'Absolute offered a wide variety of passed appetizers for our cocktail hour, a well-stocked bar with signature cocktails, and accommodated all of our guests allergies and dietary restrictions. We couldn't ask for a better experience with a catering team for our wedding!

We used D'Absolute for our wedding, and we had such a great experience. They were very easy to work with in the lead up to the wedding and very flexible and accommodating with our requests. On the day of, they went out of their way to make sure that guests were taken care of. There was a lot of people walking around serving drinks and apps which kept the bar line to a minimum all night. In addition, they went out to go get more of the signature drink to ensure we did not run out. Typically, wedding food can be pretty average, but that certainly was not the case. I have been to weddings that have used D'Absolute and was impressed, so it was a no brainer to use them for our wedding. Mena was great and made sure the wedding party was taken care of during dinner. I would recommend D'Absolute to anyone in Chicago looking for a catering service. Chris and his team do a great job!

We had a great experience with D’Absolute for our wedding. The food was delicious, with so many options and variety. Everyone raved about the appetizers in specific, but we got great reviews from guests on all the food too.Their staff is wonderful and helpful, Chris Mena and every server and bartender was friendly. One of their team members even packed up a to go container with all of the late night food and our sweets for me and my husband to take home since he knew we were too busy to eat any of it in the moment. We appreciated this teams expertise in making sure everyone had food drink and fun!

My wife and I recently hired D'Absolute to cater our wedding and we had such an amazing experience from start to finish. Chris played a pivotal role in ensuring our wedding planning and the actual day were filled with ease and was so accommodating with all of our questions and requests throughout the whole experience! Chris met with us multiple times to ensure we were satisfied with all of our options and our guests absolutely raved about how good all of the food was. D’Absolute's offerings are truly exceptional—marked by superior quality, generous portions, and a delightful array of choices. It is sometimes tough to expect such high quality food at a wedding but the appetizers, salads, entrees and even the late night snacks were incredible. The bar line was always extremely short and the staff was always ready to help my wife and I if there was anything we needed - even going as far as helping us track down other vendors if something was not going as planned. Can't recommend enough!

The amount of people who said our food was the best they've ever had at a wedding is enough to hire and book this place! We had a 240+ person wedding, who ate their hearts out and loved every minute of it! Chris (owner) worked with us on customizing a menu that met our needs of an open buffet style, with 3 different types of stations: American, Spanish Tapas, and Asian. All done perfectly. In addition, we had wonderful appetizers passed around during cocktail hour that were delicious and easy to eat while standing. AND passed around late night snacks... Have you ever had a mini cheese burger passed right to you while dancing? It's heaven! D'Absolute also put together amazing signature drinks too. They were very accommodating - even at the tasting! We had great portions and Chris made it a fun experience for our family too! It really set the stage for what to expect, which I loved. They've clearly done this before and you can tell. Highly, highly recommend!!

D'Absolute was fabulous and their suggestions in planning the event were invaluable! They were present throughout the entire evening to ensure all of our specific requests were honored. They had fabulous ideas to help ensure the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour was seamless. The food food was amazing, service was excellent and I would recommend them to anyone for their special event.

My husband and I truly could not have been more thankful to have worked with the D’Absolute team for our wedding, primarily Chris. Chris made our entire wedding planning and wedding day experience such a positive one!! While our catering costs rose due to the current inflation situation, Chris was communicative about those changes; he was honest with us, listened to our concerns, and gave us ideas for ways in which we could still save for our wedding. The food that D’Absolute provides is truly outstanding— high quality, great portions, and variety! We really enjoyed our tasting and could not wait to eat the food again for our wedding. We would love to continue to support D’Absolute by recommending them to anyone in search of catering, but also by ordering from them for any future upcoming events. I am really shocked by any negative reviews written, as we strongly feel that you really will not be disappointed choosing D’Absolute as your wedding caterer!

D'absolute catered our wedding and I was blown away by how amazing everything was. The food was delicious. Everything was beautiful. Chris is responsive and professional, he took amazing care of me as a bride, making sure I was able to get a taste of everything. I cannot recommend him enough. If you have an event hire D'absolute.

From day one, our experience with D’Absolute was just absolutely phenomenal! Chris and Mena are an absolute joy and went above and beyond when we had to pivot our wedding plans due to COVID-19 and find a caterer within 4 months of our event. From our first phone conversation with Chris to the tasting at their shop (photos are from the tasting) to the execution of the event, they made us feel so calm and took wonderful care of us! They’re incredibly professional and experts in the industry. The food was fantastic, the presentation was beautiful and we got so many compliments from our guests. Sometimes the bride and groom don’t have time to eat, but Mena made sure my husband and I each got a plate full of appetizers and she took care of us all night long. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and we highly recommend booking them!
