Staff were great, but the gumbo was a bit too thick and unfortunately had an aftertaste of flour.

My aunt and I split the short rib burger and catfish. Daisy's is basically a self-service place.

Came in right as they opened on Friday for lunch. Ordered bbq gulf shrimp po boy, half fried chicken, biscuits, Cajun fries, and red beans and rice. Food came out hot, well seasoned, and delicious. Fried chicken was exceptional-- fluffy, light, and flavorful breading.Kid friendly atmosphere for lunch. Our toddler told us the red beans and rice were spicy but he kept going back for more. We'll be back for sure.

Very nice and spacious! Came close to closing and they still gave us time and space to eat our food and drinks. Had the shrimp and the honey chicken sandwich. FYE ??

March 9th 2024... Food did not exceed my expectations. Purchased a 1/2 Chicken meal, and looked over cooked, dry, and small pieces and the biscuits were hard. The Gator Plate were small nuggets and they did not give me many of them. I had more French fries than I had gator nuggets.Went to Daisy's PO Boy for the very first time today, March 9th 2024. My Mother treated me for my Birthday. When we were leaving, my mother wanted to meet and greet the Owner of the establishment, who she saw on television. My mother extended her hand out to shake his hand, and the owner refused to shake my mother's hand. However, when my mother walked away feeling embarrassed, he extends his hand out to me to, shake my hand. I shook his hand, and I told him to "F" himself politely but I don't believe he heard me.Erick Williams, owner of Daisy's PO Boy and Tavern, displayed an inconsiderate, thoughtless, distasteful act, that you would do that to an elder who wanted to shake hands with a celebrity owner but, he thought he was too good or too better to shake her hand. What's the difference between you shaking my hand, and not my mother's hand? We will never attend Daisy's Po Boy in Hyde Park again. It's not worth the money, and it is overrated.

Ordered a Po Boy (Shrimp) and it was super dry. Chicken was okay but not good enough to return. If the menu changes then... but overall it's a no for me.

And so I lost my mind! The alligator poboy was amazing. Never had it in my life but what a great treat! I will order this again. Just a well-made sandwich and the mayo set it off.Very good selection of beers and cocktails. I enjoyed the frozen hurricane.Parking is where you find it. Paid parking on the street and across from the restaurant but you may have to wait for a spot.I will be back and try the rest of the menu.

The catfish po’boy is amazing! The wings were really good, I just wished they had blue cheese. The Cajun fries were tasty.

My daughter kept trying to get me to try this restaurant. Finally with the unseasoned weather we’ve been having in The Chi I decided to give it a try. WOW everything was delicious. I don’t usually order catfish but gave it a try. Excellent and that Cajun coleslaw ??I spent a lot on lunch but not because prices were so high but because I was so greedy and wanted to try everything. And everything was delicious. Will definitely be back

My husband and I LOVE New Orleans - we even got married there. We really, really want to love Daisy’s. But the food and drinks just aren’t quite right. Every dish has some sort of weird “twist” to it.Considering this is the only New Orleans themed restaurant I’ve ever seen in Chicago, there is really no reason to do that - they should just serve classic New Orleans food! Probably a large percentage of people in Chicago have never been to New Orleans and now after eating at Daisy’s they probably think this is what the food is actually like…lol. If you’re one of the only places in Chicago that serves New Orleans food, why not do it right? Most people aren’t going to understand or appreciate your “twists” because they’ve never had the original stuff. We went to Daisy’s the other night and I had been craving a muffaletta, so I was excited to try it, as I usually get a po’ boy or something else there. The muffaletta was extremely disappointing and was nothing like in New Orleans. In New Orleans, the bread is thin and soft, and the sandwich is loaded with meat, cheese, and this special olive salad (which is not spicy). The Daisy’s version had huge thick crusty bread that was extremely hard (like literally so hard I couldn’t stick a toothpick in it), there was only one layer of each meat and one layer of cheese, and there wasn’t even olive salad on it - it had giardiniera instead?!?!?! And it was really spicy giardiniera too - you couldn’t taste anything else about the sandwich. It literally just tasted like a classic Chicago deli sandwich you could get anywhere. The drinks also all have weird “twists” to them and none of them are classic New Orleans drinks. On top of all of that, they used to have an amazing corn maque choux dish that they got rid of shortly after opening. It was the best thing on the menu and my favorite dish - sometimes I would order it solo as a side for our dinner.Daisy’s, PLEASEEEEE learn what New Orleans food actually tastes like and stop trying to make it “unique” and different!!!!!!
