I have a way overdue review for Dak. I've been moving away from Edgewater for a few years but when I was still a student around there, Dak was the most common place I went for food. The wings, the rice, the sauce and the staff. Anything you need, you get it from there - the taste, the smell, the price and the warmth feeling. I still remember that one year somehow they figured out my birthday and I was given a free meal. Seriously I miss them and I hope I will get a chance...
As some others have pointed out, Dak is most definitely an important part of this area. I don't recall it having much popularity among students per se, but it is not because it's bad -- it's a hidden gem. That Dak is a Korean family-owned business is in itself significant. My favorite place of all time to get Bibimbap! I always get the tofu (regular or spicy). I moved away from Chicago and made a point to come back here. They did not disappoint! The food is as delicious as ever!
