My sisters and Aunt took me here to celebrate my 60th Birthday and we had an amazing time. Food was hot and delicious. Our server, Que, who was actually one of the managers, took care of us personally and he made my birthday dinner absolutely amazing. He interacted with us and checked on us multiple times to make sure we were good. Can't wait to go back and take more friends.
So good with amazing customer service!!!
I was very happy to add Dawn A.M. Eatery on the list for my personal 2024 Brunch Challenge. I’ve seen the restaurant a few times while driving in Hyde Park for tacos, but I had no idea of the amount of southern classics that were on the menu. The restaurant is located at the base of the Windemere House apartments.
Some of the interesting dishes that are at Dawn A.M. Eatery are: Chicken and Waffle and smoked salmon deviled eggs as appetizers. There’s also pot roast and jalapeno grits and Georgia peach pancakes.
We basically filled the table with food, including Lemon Raspberry Waffles, Blackened Catfish and a side of Jalapeño Grits with bacon, eggs, and hashbrowns. We also enjoyed a croissant and orange roll.
We thoroughly enjoyed all of our food; my tastebuds were definitely doing a happy dance. While dining, one of the owners walked around and greeted guests, and asked how we were doing and if we enjoyed the meal. I thought that was a nice experience before leaving.
If you’re ever in the Hyde Park area, you should definitely check it out. Reservations are highly suggested.

The staff are so kind and wonderful. They exemplified southern hospitality. The pot roast and jalapeño grits tasted like comfort in a cup. I will be back.

Nice service, welcoming and airy interior, great Shrimp and Grits, really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, that sauce was ?. Nice vibe with a beautiful outside view. Will be back soon. So many menu items to try. Our server was very attentive even though the restaurant was pretty busy.

I am definitely coming back, the food had a southern delight, homemade and seasoned with care. Definitely a great place for family and friends.
Parking: This is by far the most important part, especially living in a city where parking meters are everywhere.

I like Dawn and will give it another chance. I recommend the slalom deviled eggs, but the southern fried is fried to hard and the crust falls apart, and seasoning isn't good. The bartender was great, and she knows what she is doing! Again, I'll try it again.

I was disappointed after hearing so many good reviews, maybe it was a off night. I had Gumbo, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Blackened Catfish with Hash browns & Broccoli sides. I only enjoyed the Gumbo and my cocktails.
The Fried Green Tomatoes were awful, I don't know what was in the batter but after taking one bite, it looked & tasted like cooked grits with a lot of black pepper--I couldn't eat them. The Blackened Catfish was very undercooked & I was only able to eat it after I finished cooking it in my oven at home. I love black pepper but the Hashbrowns had extremely too much black pepper & Broccoli was bland.
Not sure if I will return although my friends that recommended them want me to give them another chance

Waited 2 hours for two seats at the bar. Not docking points for this, but just wanted to mention. Got the pancakes, biscuit, and salmon & eggs. Biscuits were very good with nice speciality butter. Everything else was average. And pricey. 50$ for everything. Pancakes were average. Salmon & eggs were average. Really nothing remarkable about this place. I wouldn't come back, but I also wouldn't avoid the place either ?♂️

So, I would’ve loved to given 5 stars, but our waitress Kiara which was very nice and attentive to us despite being crowded, she left out the fact that the mimosa’s was $30 a person. When we asked how much for bottomless mimosa’s she just said $30 if she would have clarified that they was 30 a person there’s no way I would have spent 60 for 1 bottle of champagne and 2 very small glasses of juice, for the simple fact my fiancé only had half a glass because he doesn’t drink. But besides that very IRRITATING FACT the food was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful.

I have been to Dawn and dine in ALOT!! The food is great! Especially the girts. Today I decided to get take-out and I was really disappointed! For the amount of money spend one scoop of girts isn't another. The bowl wasn't even halfway full. Next, because I will be back because I enjoy the food, I will check my food before leaving.

Absolute heaven. The food is immaculate and delicious. If I could inject the raspberry lemon glaze waffle directly into my bloodstream, I would. If I could have one wish, I would have them replace the Mesler under the Sophy hotel.
