Food was delicious!!!! Everyone working in there had amazing customer service. There was a delay on getting our food BUT the restaurant was super busy so we understood!!! Will definitely go back!
The former Miss Black Illinois Queens decided to have our brunch at Dawn. And a beautiful dawn it was! The food was superb! Met our expectations of southern flavors and creole style dishes. The service was excellent. The owner came to the table to welcome us. The ascetics is stylish with a comfortable cafe feel. Definitely will recommend to others.
With each visit the service continues to improve. Some inconsistency with certain foods(over seasoned). Noise level can be high at times also. Overall, it's one of my go too's in the neighborhood hood. I would recommend for solid for brunch, comfort food (fried chicken and catfish), not crazy about the Mac and Cheese. The GRITS at on point!
This is a great restaurant. Everything moves quickly and is delicious! This is a favorite of mine! Remember to make a reservation. And get ready for a true southern meal.
My wife and I first time there, and we was very happy. Went on a Saturday it was not too crowded. We was seated right away. Our appetizer was fried green tomatoes, it was a bit hard for my liking. I had catfish and my wife had fried chicken. We both enjoyed that. Our bill was reasonable. I would go back.
Dawn Eatery never disappoints. It is becoming “my” spot whenever I come to town. It was so good I am making another reservation for tomorrow morning.
Food was good it's just the chicken was too hard and not seasoned well enough. Everything else was great !
I frequent visit this place and the food is always delicious. I tried the fried chicken it was ok, not as good as my pot roast or salmon croquettes. They've also added a few new drinks to their menu. Will definitely be back soon!
I went to Dawn for the first time on my birthday. I booked the reservation which needed to be modified once we arrived, the host took care of it no problem. We were there for Sunday brunch, it was very busy but we were shown to our table in a timely fashion. The food was amazing, I loved the catfish and the raspberry waffle with lemon. So good. The outside view was beautiful and the inside ambience was perfect. 10/10 wouuld recommend.
The food was dry. The waiter made it seem like it was the end of the world because I asked for a chocolate milk for my kids. God forbid he have to stir chocolate syrup into white milk. The food Was OK but nothing to make me say “wow this is so good. I can't wait to come back and order this again.” Because I won't. I thought it was a bit pricey to for kids meals and what they got. Restaurant was cute but I'll go somewhere else unless someone else is paying for me.

The location works perfectly for me since it's close to home. It's nice having a brunch spot nearby that offers quality food, friendly service, and a welcoming ambiance. The owner even stopped by to greet me and make sure everything was to my liking — I really appreciated that personal touch. The hostess and waiter were polite; I just wish there had been a bit more attentiveness with refilling water and house coffee. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with delicious comfort food options. I'll definitely be back!
My experience at Dawn A.M. Eatery was amazing. Our waiter, Zayvion was polite and very knowledgeable of the menu. He helped us make great choices. The ambiance was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Drinks were amazing! Five Stars
Needed a bit more support for the front of the house. I hope this was an isolated incident.
The wait was INSANE. We didn't get seated til 4:40. Even then, we waited an additional 20 mins for someone to greet us and take our order. This is my 3rd time visiting there, and I highly recommended to my friend and her daughter, so it was the 3 of us. I LOVE the pot roast and grits, it was horrible. Extremely salty, not enough gravy and the grits were very thick. The deviled eggs were OK, the chicken and waffle bites wasn't worth the purchase and my friend didn't like ANY of the sides that she ordered with her fish. I asked for a fillet and never got it. With that said, the gumbo and fried green tomatoes were the winner of the night. I was very disappointed.
My third visit to Dawn for brunch! Love the deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes and bottomless mimosas!
