Even when busy, the service was great. I ordered the salmon croquette and pot roast from a special menu which was great quality.

My first time coming , the inside is clean & beautiful, everybody is so welcoming & greetings, I had the lemon raspberry waffle it was very good & I had the pot roast & grits 10/10 the grits was amazing and the pot roast was perfection definitely a combination that’s worth the try, I will be back & the prices are budget friendly . I would say if you want parking & a walk in come on a weekday it’s less busy.

Listen… let me tell y’all something REAL quick 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
TeJuna is NOT just a bartender. He is the whole experience. Period.

When I say he’s a skilled and AMAZING mixologist, I mean educated, intentional, and truly knows the history behind every drink he creates. This isn’t just pouring liquor this is art, culture, chemistry, and energy all in one glass.

I literally sat down… and he looked at me. Studied me. Caught my vibe without me saying much. And made me a drink that soothed my soul. Yes, soothed my soul. It was smooth, balanced, and made with purpose.

And then the next drink came… and the next… and every single one was beautiful. Crafted. Thought out. Each one told a story.

Now let’s talk about the FOOD 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The food is AMAZING. Fresh. Flavorful. Cooked just right. Everything paired perfectly with the drinks. It wasn’t just good it elevated the entire experience. Every bite matched the energy of every sip.

You don’t just “order” here. You sit down. You trust him. You relax. And you get ready for the most amazing experience ever.

This is something I needed. And trust me you need it too.

Best experience ever!!!!!! 🍸🔥✨

Tasty food and great ambiance. Looking out the window I was across the street from The Museum of Science & Industry. Also a background view of the President Obama Library.

My BF has deemed this the best food he’s eaten in the last 6 months. He’s never tried deviled eggs before, so I went on a mission to find a place that sold them. Stumbled upon Dawn and so glad we did.

The deviled eggs with the shrimp instead of the salmon was 🤩 amazing. He is now a deviled egg fan.

We ordered the recommend chicken with cornbread French toast and the pot roast with grits. Literally never imagined these combinations a day in my life but it was so good my boyfriend wanted to take an order of everything home for later 🤣

Safe to say, we’ll be back sooner than later.

My first time eating here. I will definitely come back. We had reservations and had to wait a bit longer than expected but it was worth it. Try the greyhound drink, very tasty!

The food was very underwhelming. The banana pudding pancakes were chewy. The cinnamon roll french toast was very hard. Everything overall tasted okay, but was lacking in quality. The staff was nice, no overall complaints but not trying to be very present. The atmosphere was far too loud. The music was loud and that made all conversations even louder. Its trying to be too fancy and not focusing enough on the culinary experience.

I’d like to add this to the chorus of great reviews for Dawn AM Eatery. This place blew me away! I live on the north side and a friend invited me down for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago. I’m so glad I made the journey across the city lol.

My friend got the vegan breakfast tacos and I got the pot roast with jalapeño grits and we shared an order of the Georgia Peach Pancakes. Everything was amazingly delicious. Substantial portions and cooked to perfection!

Our server was friendly, super knowledgeable about the menu and on point with everything we needed. The restaurant was also pretty crowded with a great vibe and energy for an otherwise cold winter day. The owner also stopped by and thanked us for coming in- so nice!

I will definitely be back to this place, now that I know what’s going on in Hyde Park lol. Can’t recommend this place enough for legit, delicious southern cooking.

It should not take 30 mins to make a latte. I think it’s a great restaurant, and I understand that you’re busy. But a latte to go should not take half an hour. If anything that should be the quickest and easiest thing to make.

My wife and I went to Dawn Eatery for Valentine's Day. The food was outstanding as usual. My wife and I are regular customers. Our appetizer was fried green tomatoes, excellent. My entree was the fish fry, one fried fillet was one blacken fillet with a side of jalapeno grits and greens. It was great. My wife has the pot roast over jalapeño grits. She really enjoyed it. We were more than satisfied with our meals. There were 2 things that raised concerns. First my wife ordered a glass of wine. The glass had water drops all over it, inside and outside. We called the waitress to bring it to her attention. She took the glass to bring another one but she felt she had to explain what happen as if it wasn't a bing deal. She said the bartender probably rinsed the glass off and pour the wine. OK, but why even bring us a wet glass. That was terrible. Next, the service was vey slow. The restaurant had a lot a lot of diners but we've Ben there when the place was packed. The server did she us immediately when we sat down and said she's be with us shortly and apologized for the wait. We ordered everything at once. The wine in the wet glass came immediately. The appetizer took more than 15 minutes and the entree took almost an hour from the time we sat down. The service is inconsistent, but we've had more good service than bad service. The service is usually better when the owner is there walking around. He was not there last night. The food is always great but lets get better and more consistent with the service.

Great experience, waiter was attentive and he was very helpful. Glad they have vegan and gluten free options. Friendly staff

Was a great experience from start to finish. The bacon flight was a standout — flavorful, creative, and definitely something I'd highly recommend. The deviled eggs were well balanced and made a perfect starter, and the salmon croquettes paired with the jalapeño grits were a highlight of the meal. The grits had just the right kick without overpowering the dish. Overall, great flavors, good portion sizes, and a spot I'd happily come back to.

Esquite location, open and happy. Our server, Erika, was fantastically attentive and gave us an honest review of the dishes without influencing our final decision. I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. It's like my Granny was cooking for me. It's an absolute MUST.
